Do you have any experience with Iberia Airlines? I haven’t been able to find any reviews on your blog. I’m looking for another way to get from the U.S. to Europe using AAdvantage miles other than BA. Thanks!

Matt, I haven’t flown them longhaul, and have only flown them within Europe on short flights so far. I do hope to review their longhaul product soon, though haven’t had the chance yet, unfortunately.

Matt – I actually scored on Iberia . Like you , I wanted to avoid BA, just because of the taxes, I looked up ITA Matrix to see multiple options of flights that would work for me and then called up AA reservations and told them that I could not book IBERIA on line, so they waived the reservation fee. I managed to get from Venice to Barcelona to Lisbon on Iberia and that too business class, paying just 10k more per person.
