Silvercar Is Expanding To Seattle & Orlando This Summer

I’ve written extensively about Silvercar, including about the rental experience at LAX. Silvercar is an innovative rental car company available in over a dozen markets, with only one type of car in their fleet, the Audi A4.

Each A4 is equipped with free GPS, wifi, and satellite radio, and Silvercar has a fair fuel plan, where they’ll fill up your tank for the “market price” plus a $5 refueling fee.

I feel like they charge a reasonable premium for what they offer, though admittedly everyone values things like this differently.

If you’ve been wanting to rent from Silvercar but they haven’t been available in your desired markets, there’s some good news. Silvercar has just announced that they’re expanding to Seattle and Orlando in the coming months:

  • Silvercar will be available at Seattle Tacoma International Airport as of July 31, 2017
  • Silvercar will be available at Orlando International Airport as of August 28, 2017

Reservations are now available for both markets, and rates in Seattle start at $59 per day, while rates in Orlando start at $49 per day, both exclusive of taxes and fees.

If you haven’t yet rented from Silvercar, they have a generous referral program, where you can get $25 in cash after your first rental if you’re referred by an existing customer. If you enter my code, BSCHLAPPIG, at the time you sign-up for Silvercar, you’ll get that after your first rental (and I’ll get the same). Just go to the top right of and click on “sign-up,” and then enter your email address and password. Once your email address has been verified you can log-in and enter the above referral code.

On top of that, if you have a Visa Infinite Card (like the Chase Sapphire Reserve) you can always save 30% on the cost of your rental of at least two days by entering code VINFINITE at the time of booking.

The above two promotions should be combinable, and in many cases should put a rental into a comparable price range to a basic rental from another car rental company.

I’ve been planning a little road trip in Washington State, so I’m very excited about Silvercar expanding to Seattle!

Anyone plan on renting from Silvercar in Seattle or Orlando?

  1. those intro rates seem quite competitive, especially with the 30% discount. Car rental rates are one of those things that I have a hard time dealing with. Headed to upstate NY this weekend and from Albany cars are over $100/day from all the big companies…and that’s for your basic economy car. It seems insane. Using my BJs membership made things a bit more reasonable at about $60/day all in, but that still seems like a lot for a midsize basic car.

  2. Silvercar has mostly transitioned to a 2017 fleet. The picture shows the interior of a 2015 A4. Your readers deserve more than a copy and paste from a previous article.

  3. I’ve had good experiences with Silvercar at Denver and San Francisco. In Denver the Audi is great for skiing for 2 people with the fold down rear seats and AWD. It always helps getting into the same rental car model, no searching for controls!

  4. How dare you post a 2 year old photo? Your readers deserve ….. Deserve? Well, we deserve nothing actually. But instead of nothing, we get a well written blog post. Thx for the details, I’ll check out Silver Car in the Seattle location.

  5. It seems so long ago you lived in Washington, oh time flies, we miss you out here in the great PNW. Look forward to having you back, the weathers been great!

  6. Just tried to book Seattle for August 29 but was unable to do so. Contacted Support and was told that Seattle reservations would not open until July 31!

  7. Hi Ben just made my first Silver Car rental and put in your referral code. I got a code to use as well HKENQGYL. Looks like I may have a new favorite car rental place.

  8. Forgot to mention that my rental is for Seattle 3 days in November. No issues making res or creating profile. Also want to mention they have a current promo where everyone gets 30% off the first rental. Just click on the banner when u reserve.

  9. To use the “VINFINITE” code do you actually have to hold the card, or will any old VISA do?

  10. Just made a reservation for Orlando for almost the same as national. Will have to see if added time from off site location is worth it. There is also a $50 off (FIRST) for first time renters. For me, that was better than the 30%.

  11. First question I’d ask is do they rent manual transmission vehicles…given that this is the US, I suspect the answer would be a resounding no. Which would make me sad, because, Audi.
