I’m finally back in the US for July 4th weekend, after having spent almost the entire month abroad reviewing various airlines. I’ll have lots of trip reports over the coming weeks covering those flights. My return to the US sure was a fun one, as I flew Air France La Premiere from Paris to Houston yesterday, and had the cabin all to myself. What an incredible flight, which I’ll have more on within the next day.
On the miles & points front, over the past week we’ve seen Qatar Airways’ much anticipated Qsuites go into service, changes from United MileagePlus, new hotel promotions, credit card offers expire, and more.

United MileagePlus Program Changes As Of November 1, 2017
United MileagePlus has just announced some major program changes, which kick in for bookings as of November 1, 2017. The changes aren’t terrible, but then again, with how much frequent flyer programs have been destroyed the past few years, there’s only so much devaluing that can be done. 😉
So, what’s changing?
Review: Qatar Airways Qsuites Business Class 777-300ER
My friend Yaroslav had the chance to recently try Qatar Airways’ new business class product, which became available between Doha and London as of this past weekend. While I still hope to review the product soon, I’m thrilled he shared his experience, given how new this product still is.
Earlier this year Qatar Airways announced a further improvement to the concept. Named QSuites, these fully enclosed seats, available as a single, double or quadruple pod, promise to enable passengers to spend time together with their family while flying or get work done in teams.
Having plans to visit Doha around the dates of the scheduled commencement into service, I decided to book my flight to Qatar via London, rather than Frankfurt, which would have been more convenient.
