Today Only: 8 Bonus Miles Per Dollar Spent On Apple Purchases

Yesterday I wrote about how for one day only, the American AAdvantage eShopping Portal was offering four bonus miles per dollar spent on Apple purchases. This is in addition to their spring bonus promotion at the moment, offering 300 bonus miles after spending $150, or 1,000 bonus miles after spending $350. Given that we don’t often see bonuses on Apple purchases, I considered that to be a pretty good deal.

Well, today there’s a deal for United flyers looking to make Apple purchases, and it’s even better.

Today only (Friday, March 10, 2017) you can earn eight bonus United MileagePlus miles per dollar spent on Apple purchases through the MileagePlus Shopping portal.

I value MileagePlus miles at ~1.4 cents each, so to me that’s a return of over 11% on Apple purchases, not including the points you earn for credit card spend.

While this isn’t valid on the purchase of Apple AirPods, it should be valid on the purchase of most laptops, phones, etc.

The full terms of the promotion are as follows:

Please note these terms & conditions: Not eligible on purchases made with coupon or discount codes that are not found on this site. Not eligible on gift cards, gift certificates or any other similar cash equivalents. Rewards are issued by this site, not Apple. Apple AirPods are not eligible for reward. Newly released products may not be eligible for reward. Additional products not eligible for rewards are gift cards, gift wrap, One to One Membership, Bose products, and shipping. Apple sells and ships products to end user customers only; you may not purchase for resale. Eligible only to a customer for up to five (5) units per eligible product, except iPhone, in which case only two (2) units within a thirty-day (30-day) period are eligible.

Bottom line

Earning eight bonus miles per dollar spent with Apple is about the best bonus I recall seeing. That’s a value of 11%+, which is pretty good for Apple products. If you were planning on making an Apple purchase, I’d consider doing so today.

  1. Must mean Apple sales are down.. there are usually not any deals or promotions to be had…
