Silvercar Offering 20% Off Rentals (Including For Existing Members)

In the interest of full disclosure, One Mile At A Time earns a referral bonus for purchases made through some of the below links. These are products and services we use ourselves, and are the best offers we know of. Check out our Advertising Policy for further details. Thanks for your support!

I’ve written extensively about Silvercar, including about the rental experience at LAX. Silvercar is an innovative rental car company available in a dozen markets, with only one type of car in their fleet, the Audi A4.

Each A4 is equipped with free GPS, wifi, and satellite radio, and Silvercar has a fair fuel plan, where they’ll fill up your tank for the “market price” plus a $5 refueling fee.

I feel like they charge a reasonable premium for what they offer, though admittedly everyone values things like this differently.

As of now, Silvercar is available in the following markets:

  • Austin – AUS
  • Chicago – ORD
  • Dallas – Love
  • Dallas – DFW
  • Denver – DEN
  • Ft. Lauderdale – FLL
  • Las Vegas — LAS
  • Los Angeles – LAX
  • Miami – MIA
  • New York City – Manhattan
  • Phoenix – PHX
  • San Francisco – SFO

Silvercar has a great referral program, where they offer $25 in cash after your first rental if you’re referred by an existing member (the member referring you gets the same bonus).

While they often have promotions for first time renters, right now Silvercar is also offering a promotion for existing members. You can save 20% off your next Silvercar rental by April 30, 2016 when entering promotion code SPRING20 at the time of booking.

Per the email I just received from Silvercar:

It’s a big, beautiful world out there and Spring is the perfect time to see it! To help kick your trip off right, we’re giving you 20% off your next Silvercar rental through the end of April. You read that right – use SPRING20 and get 20% off – it’s our best deal this year! But act fast, this deal is good on reservations started by April 30th

And if you feel like sharing the love, don’t forget about your personal referral code. When a friend completes their first rental with Silvercar using your unique code, you BOTH get $25!

See you on the road.

Silvercar rentals often start around $69 per day (it’s dependent on the market and day of the week), so this lowers the daily cost in many markets to ~$55.

As mentioned above, this promotion is valid for both new and existing renters, so it’s a great opportunity to save even if you’re already a Silvercar fan.

In the event you’re not yet a member, be sure you sign-up for Silvercar using a referral, so you get $25 in cash after your first rental.

Bottom line

Silvercar isn’t for everyone, as I know plenty of people who say “a rental is a rental car,” and are perfectly happy with renting from one of the big guys. And that’s fine. But there are also people who are happy to pay a reasonable premium for a rental experience which is actually enjoyable, like with Silvercar.

While Silvercar frequently has promotions for first time renters, it’s rare for them to have a promotion for existing members, which makes this a pretty good promotion.

Hopefully some people can take advantage of this promotion.

  1. I just got a $59 daily rate for a DEN trip in June as the going rate (no discounts). Cheapest cars available on expedia (e.g., Toyota Yaris from E-Z Rent A Car) were $62/day for the same dates. I understand that timing is everything, but I always check the silvercar rate to see if it really is charging a premium.
