Buy ~$42 Worth Of JetBlue Points For ~$15

Through February 29, 2016, JetBlue is offering 3,000 bonus points when you get a premium subscription to Texture, which is a digital magazine app. This offer is available to new subscribers only, and requires registering your TrueBlue number when you sign up.

Texture is an app which gives you access to some of the most popular magazines out there, so it seems like a pretty cool service to begin with.

Here’s how the offer is described:

This offer is available to new, first-time Texture® subscribers only. Try Texture free for 30 days. After your free trial period, you will earn 3,000 JetBlue TrueBlue points upon your first monthly payment of $14.99. Mileage offer valid on Premium plan only.

Please allow up to six weeks after you make a payment for the points to reach your TrueBlue account. You may cancel anytime. Bonus points offer expires February 29, 2016.

So you can try Texture free for 30 days, and then you’ll pay $14.99 for a subscription for the second month. Upon your first payment of $14.99 you’ll be eligible for the 3,000 bonus JetBlue TrueBlue points, which will post within six weeks of your payment.

The value of JetBlue points is pretty straightforward. JetBlue has a revenue based program, and each TrueBlue point can be redeemed for ~1.4 cents towards the cost of a paid ticket on JetBlue. So 3,000 JetBlue TrueBlue points are worth ~$42 towards the cost of a ticket on JetBlue. Through this promotion you can basically buy TrueBlue points for a third of their “retail” value.

Bottom line

This is a pretty awesome offer for anyone who collects TrueBlue points, and if you like reading magazines, that’s just the icing on the cake. I’m guessing that Texture is hoping to accomplish one of two things with this promotion:

  • You like their service and will continue to use it beyond the first paid month
  • You forget to cancel, given that you first get a free month and then have to pay for the second month, so you have to remember to cancel in two months

Assuming you’re a fairly organized person and add a reminder in your calendar to cancel, I’d absolutely consider taking advantage of this deal.

Do you plan on signing up for Texture for $14.99 to earn 3,000 TrueBlue points?

  1. More for less is always good. I’m an AA loyalist, but I have some flights coming up where JetBlue pricing is too good to pass up. One flight is only $39, so thanks to this subscription, that trip is roughly free! Thanks for the heads up, Ben!! 🙂
