Act Fast: 50% Off Awards At The Venetian & The Palazzo

IHG Rewards Club is presently offering a flash sale for their two InterContinental Alliance properties in Las Vegas — The Venetian and The Palazzo.

Through this flash sale you can get 50% off award redemptions at these properties, which lowers the cost to 25,000 IHG Rewards Club points per night.

The basic details of the promotion are as follows:

  • Valid for bookings made through 12PM ET today, Tuesday, November 24, 2015
  • Valid for stays between December 1, 2015, and March 31, 2016

It’s worth noting that there are quite a few blackout dates for this promotion, which include many weekends (which admittedly takes quite some value out of the promotion, since weekends are by far the most expensive in Las Vegas):

12/1/15—12/2/15, 12/5/15, 12/8/15 Venetian only, 12/9/15, 12/10/15—12/12/15 Palazzo only, 12/31/15, 1/1/16, 1/5/16—1/7/16, 1/11/16—1/12/16, 1/18/16—1/21/16, 1/25/16—1/26/16, 2/2/16—2/3/16, 2/13/16—2/16/16, 2/29/16—3/2/16, 3/8/16—3/12/16, 3/18/16—3/19/16, 3/21/16—3/23/16

While the blackout dates are significant, there’s still quite a bit of value to be had through this promotion, as flexible rates at these properties often run $300+ per night:

As I wrote about a few days ago, IHG Rewards Club is selling points for as little as 0.575 cents each at the moment, and at that rate you’re paying ~$144 for the points needed for 25,000 points. If you have their co-branded credit card you get a 10% refund on points redeemed (up to 100,000 points per year), which further reduces the cost of such a redemption.

Bottom line

Assuming you aren’t looking to travel over the blackout dates, this promotion could be quite a good deal, and is worth considering. This promotion is almost exactly the same as the one IHG offered in March, which I know a lot of people took advantage of. Sorry for not posting about this promo yesterday, as it was a bit of a crazy travel day.

Do you plan on making a booking using the IHG Rewards Club 50% off Las Vegas flash sale?

  1. Fantastic! I had already booked two rooms for two nights each just before Christmas at the cash rate of $169, which when you include the taxes and service charges is actually ~$219 a night. Burning 200,000 points for that didn’t make sense to me, but 100,000 makes a ton of sense. Just rebooked using the 25,000 a night promo and will cancel the cash reservation. Thanks for posting!
