Full Summer 2015 IHG PointBreaks List Published

Yesterday IHG Rewards Club announced that their next PointBreaks list would go live as of Tuesday, May 26, 2015. The new PointBreaks will be valid for bookings and stays between May 26 and July 31, 2015.

As a reminder, IHG Rewards Club’s PointBreaks promotion is traditionally one of the best promotions in the hotel industry. Through this promotion, select hotels are available for just 5,000 points per night. Since IHG Rewards Club points can be indirectly purchased for 0.7 cents each, that’s like booking stays at certain hotels for just $35 per night.

While they unveiled a small sampling of the hotels which are participating yesterday, they’ve released all of the (roughly) 150 hotels which are participating today on the IHG Blog. Keep in mind that these hotels won’t be bookable at the PointBreaks rates until May 26, 2015.

Also keep in mind that last year IHG Rewards Club updated the terms of PointBreaks bookings, and you can only book two stays per hotel per promotion:

Due to the limited availability, each member may only book two PointBreaks® Reward Nights reservations per hotel during the special offer time period.

Here’s a map IHG put together of the participating summer PointBreaks properties:

Here are the participating PointBreaks properties, by region:

Bottom line

I wasn’t expecting this list to be especially lucrative, given that it’s over the peak summer travel period. The only InterContinental on the list is in Vietnam (though it’s a good one based on what I’ve heard). If anything this list seems to be best for those heading on a US road trip this summer.

Are there any PointBreaks properties on the list that interest you?

  1. I just noticed from your blog post that the IHG blog PointBreaks map has my photo in the upper right corner.

And here I thought it was only the NSA hacking into my computer.

  2. @Ric Garrido

Close, but no cigar. It’s the other big data mining outfit Google fault.

It’s a Goggle map and it shows what ever Google account that you are logged into in the browser, hover over the picture and it should show your email address

  3. @Ric Garrido

Are you signed into Google on the same browser? It’s a Google Maps based map and since I’m signed in, I see my own picture there

  4. Ben, thanks.
So, for those of us who like to plan even further out, when can we expect the next Points Break to be released? Late July, with availability for August and September?
Thanks very much for all your excellent service (and entertainment!).

  5. Trying to book one of these rates – began trying at midnight EST last night. The rate last night did not show as the “pointsbreak” rate last night. This AM still showing “regular” points rates. Is there a “go live” time today that the rates will change? Anyone else having success booking?
