Amex Offers is a great way to get additional value out of your American Express cards. If you log into your online account and scroll to the bottom of your card summary you’ll see a section titled “Amex Offers For You.”

There are often dozens of offers available at a time, though not everyone is going to find all of them useful. But then there are some no brainers. For example, last November Amex paid $150 of my AT&T bill thanks to an Amex Offers promotion.

There’s now an Amex Offers promotion which is possibly the most widely useful one ever — you can receive $20 back when you spend $20 or more through Amazon by June 6, 2015. That’s right, that’s basically like $20 of “free” spend at Amazon.

Presumably not everyone will be eligible for this promotion, though all the accounts I manage have the offer, so I do assume it’s a pretty widespread offer. If you want to take advantage of this I’d recommend doing so as soon as possible, as registration is limited, and this offer certainly won’t last. All you have to do to “reserve” your spot is click the “Save Offer” button, and you’ll have a couple of months to make your actual purchase and get a statement credit.

As a reminder, once you register the purchase has to be made by June 6, 2015, and the statement credit will appear within 90 days. The best way to maximize this promotion is to just buy a $20 Amazon gift card, which you can then load to your Amazon account and apply towards a larger purchase.

Here are the full terms of the promotion:

Offer valid only for purchases made directly at or Purchases made through other merchants or third party sites using “Checkout by Amazon” or other Amazon payment methods do not qualify for this offer. Not valid at international or non-English versions of or websites affiliated with/linked to from Also excludes Corporate gift cards, Amazon Fresh, Amazon Local, Amazon Home Services, Amazon Mechanical Turk, Amazon Web Services, Amazon Supply, Amazon Local Register, Amazon Coins, Kindle Direct Publishing, Go-Go and Amazon Payments. Must add offer to Card and use same Card for one or more transactions in order to redeem. In order to receive your statement credit, all qualifying purchases must ship on or before 6/6/15. If Items are ordered during the offer period but are shipped after 6/6/15, those items may not count towards determining whether your purchases qualify for the offer. If you receive a replacement card during the offer and use that card to enroll, you must update your card on file with Amazon to receive the statement credit. Offer is non-transferable. Limit 1 statement credit per American Express online account. Enrollment is limited. Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 6/6/15, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transactions as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. Also, in most cases, you will not receive the statement credit for transactions made with electronic wallets or through third parties or if the merchant uses mobile or wireless card readers to process them. If you use Membership Rewards points for all or any portion of a transaction through the “Shop with Points at” program, the amount of that transaction that you cover with points will not qualify for the offer. is not a sponsor of this promotion. POID:BRNV:0001

  4. have this offer on my wife’s account which has old website view…none for me and I see new view

  5. None on my personal or business cards. Do you know if there is a Twitter # you can use to get it via AmEx Offers?

  6. Nothing here. I don’t think this was a worthwhile repost for this blog, for a sporadic $20 chance offer. Btw, I heard at JosA Bank you can buy one suit and get 3 free!

  7. 1 out of 1.

Ben, the terms says it excludes “corporate gift cards”. Is your suggestion of buying a gift card still ok? Thanks!

  8. @ Michelle — Corporate gift cards are separate from consumer gift cards, so yep, should still be fine buying “normal” gift cards.

  9. 1 out of 2. Not bad…and the credit card was reinbursed almost immediately. Great catch. I also found some other good offers…I never really looked at those benefits before. Thanx Lucky

  10. I am lucky enough to get this. I want to buy $25 of cheesecake factory email gift card. Will this qualify for the $20 statement credit ?
I am not sure if this is considered as Corporate gift card.
It says “Also excludes Corporate gift cards, Amazon Fresh, …..

  11. (1 out of 2) I got it on Amex Blue sky. I’m curious, asking the people who receive it, which Amex card you got it on?
