1,000 Bonus Hyatt Points Per Mobile App Booking

Hyatt has a new mobile app, and they want you to use it.

Hyatt is offering 1,000 Gold Passport bonus points for each eligible booking you make through their mobile app between October 1 and December 31, 2014.

To qualify, the reservation has to be made and actual stay has to occur between October 1, 2014, and December 31, 2014. All Hyatt hotels qualify, though their partner M Life properties don’t. Here are the full terms:

To earn 1,000 Hyatt Gold Passport points under this offer, you must book a new stay on an Eligible Rate through the Hyatt App or the Hyatt Mobile Site. Both reservation and stay must be made and completed from October 1, 2014 through December 31, 2014 at any Hyatt hotel, excluding M life resorts. Eligible Rate is defined in the Hyatt Gold Passport terms and conditions. All hotel reservations are subject to availability and must be made in advance.

Hyatt Gold Passport membership at time of stay is required and members must provide their membership number and be a registered guest of the room. Membership is free and enrollment is available at goldpassport.com or at a participating hotel. Only one 1,000 point bonus may be earned per member, per stay, regardless of how many rooms are booked. This offer is subject to the complete terms and conditions of Hyatt Gold Passport. Please allow 2-3 weeks after stay is completed for points to be credited to account.

As a reminder, “eligible rates” include all paid rates booked through Hyatt’s website. The terms define “eligible rate” as follows:

An “Eligible Rate” shall be defined as any hotel published room rate, including, but not limited to rates found on hyatt.com, the Hyatt Daily Rate, Volume Account Rates, AAA and Senior Citizen rates and Points + Cash awards.

In theory Points + Cash bookings qualify as well, though they’re not bookable through the website, so it’s a moot point in this case. Free night awards don’t qualify.

There’s no limit to the number of bonus points you can earn through this promotion, though you only earn 1,000 bonus points once per stay (so you wouldn’t earn 1,000 bonus points per night if you book back-to-back stays at the same hotel).

As a reminder, if you don’t have a smart phone (or just don’t want to use the app) you can use an emulator on your computer to mimic the mobile site.

Between this bonus and the 50,000 point promotion I’ve been targeted for, this is turning out to be quite a rewarding fall with Hyatt for me!

  1. Never mind. Just downloaded the app and My Elite Rate is in there!
I will rebook my mattress run in SEA 4 stays in 4 nights at GH and O8 and earn an extra 4000 points thanks to your post!

    Thank you Lucky!

  2. Like Travis, I HATE/LOATHE smartphones and their tiny faux “keyboards”. I also more at home with my desktop/laptop and mouse than my tablet and “tap/swipe”. So I also got the Hyatt email, and remembered Travis’ post about Android emulators. So viola, downloaded and installed Andy on my desktop and laptop Windows computers, installed the Hyatt app, and just rebooked 3 upcoming Hyatt stays via the app running under Andy – looking to score the extra 3K in GP points. Also, like you Ben, I working the 50K fall promo so using this “app” should be a nice “force multiplier” over the next several months.

  3. Ben: have you heard anything about coming plans to make C&P’s bookable online?

what a shame. i have 14 upcoming C&P stays. 🙁 an additional 14000 points w/c/shoulda been pure magic.

  4. OK. I must be doing something wrong. I’m signed in and I don’t get the elite rate that shows up when I book on the web site. Do you need to put a special code in?

  5. @ dan ray — Nope, it’s not always available at all hotels. So chances are it’s just not available for the date/hotel you’re looking at.

  6. @ abby — I know it’s in the books, but don’t have a timeline, unfortunately. Wouldn’t expect it before next year at the earliest.

  7. Can you book corp rates thru mobile app? I know SPG and marriott allow corp rates to be booked through the site / mobile app.

  8. Lucky: Can I use the mobile app to book the 99.00 dollar rate for the December FTU? That rate is not coming up on the app……

  9. Hyatt APP is down today. Error comes up at the end that says “Mobile Service unavailable at this time. Please try again by reloading this page.”…. Guess the system is overloaded to get the 1K bonus points.

  10. How come I can’t find any official announcement of this promotion? I did not receive any email on it. Neither the mobile home page nor the mobile app has any mention of this promotion. Even if you google it, all you can find is a bunch of blogger posts, nothing from Hyatt. Am I missing something here?

  11. @ abby — to second Lucky, per multiple Diamond line reps online C&P functionality is being worked on so it will be available at some point in the future (nothing on timing though). It will be much more convenient but probably will result in worse availability as more people will book C&P.
