Kimpton Karma Rewards Double Stay Credits

Last week I wrote about Kimpton’s Karma Rewards program, which is the name for their newly rebranded loyalty program.

While I’m a fan of Kimpton in general, to me the new program seems unnecessarily complicated and lacks concrete benefits. The most interesting change has to be that they eliminated suite upgrades from the list of eligible room types for Inner Circle (their top tier status) upgrades, though claim that nothing is actually changing regarding that.

To celebrate the new program, Kimpton Rewards is offering double elite night and stay credits for paid nights:

We’re reveling in the launch of our new website and Kimpton Karma Rewards program, so it’s time to share the #KimptonLove with you, our most loyal friends with benefits. Not only will you get up to 20% off your daily rate, but you’ll earn double stay credit, too.

In order to qualify, simply book before August 4, 2014, for stays between July 23 and September 30, 2014. This means you can earn Inner Circle status with as few as seven stays or twenty nights.

You can find a full list of participating hotels at the bottom of the promotion page, though it does seem like most properties are participating.

As far as the 20% off goes, I don’t think there’s a chain more aggressive about “flash sales” on hotel rates, so I have a hard time figuring out how much that’s really worth. Though if you’re looking to book a Kimpton during the promotion dates, it’s definitely worth seeing how much you can save by booking through this promotion.

The full terms read as follows:

Welcome to the terms and conditions, a.k.a. “small print,” where we are obliged to let you know that this Kimpton Karma Rewards exclusive offer is subject to availability and valid for stays from July 23 – September 30, 2014. Day of week availability and discount vary by participating hotel. Offer must be booked by August 4, 2014 at midnight eastern time using the designated rate code for the Kimpton 2014 Summer Fling Campaign. The world being the way it is, additional taxes and fees may apply. Members will receive double credit for nights and stays for each paid reservation in their member profile. The bonus credit will appear in the member’s account within 30 days of the end of the promotional period or by October 31, 2014. Not valid in conjunction with any other promotions or offers. Not valid for discounted or negotiated rates, groups or existing reservations. Certain restrictions and blackout dates may apply. Finally, Kimpton Hotels reserves the right to cancel reservations booked with erroneous room rates.

Will a double stay credit promotion get you to switch any business to Kimpton?

  1. These rates seem higher than the standard ones.

Also, very ambiguous whether you get double stay credits towards free nights, double stay credits towards elite qualification, or both.

  2. I’ve got two nights coming up in SEA and was thinking at staying at one of the Kimpton properties to use my newly bestowed Inner Circle status….Worth it?

  3. @ Aarash Fakhori — If you’re planning on requalifying and wouldn’t otherwise, then probably. Otherwise there are likely better rates.
