Alaska Double Mileage Plan Miles Offer

Alaska is offering double redeemable (not elite qualifying) Mileage Plan miles on select routes out of Seattle for travel between June 1 and December 31, 2014.

The qualifying routes are as follows:

  • Anchorage (ANC)
  • San Diego (SAN)
  • Las Vegas (LAS)
  • San Francisco (SFO)
  • Los Angeles (LAX)
  • San Jose (SJC)
  • Oakland (OAK)
  • Vancouver, B.C. (YVR)

Registration is required prior to travel, though there’s no requirement as to when the ticket has to be booked, so previously booked tickets qualify for the promotion.

This is of course a continuation of the bloodbath between Alaska and Delta which I like to call the “battle for Seattle.” Delta is actually offering SkyMiles members with accounts registered in Washington double elite qualifying and redeemable miles on all routes to/from Seattle through December 31, 2014. Alaska hasn’t been quite as bold, since offering double elite qualifying miles on all routes out of Seattle would probably massively swell their overall elite ranks.

Alaska currently has a promotion offering both double elite qualifying and redeemable miles on select routes through May 31, so this seems to be a slightly less generous extension of that (though the routes differ somewhat).

The full terms are as follows:

* Registration is required prior to your first qualifying flight. Double Miles offer is valid only on qualifying paid nonstop flights between Seattle (SEA) and Anchorage (ANC), Las Vegas (LAS), Los Angeles (LAX), Oakland (OAK), San Diego (SAN), San Francisco (SFO), San Jose (SJC), or Vancouver (YVR) from June 1, 2014 through December 31, 2014. Flights must be marketed and operated by Alaska Airlines. Flight miles must be credited to your Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan™ account in order to earn Double Miles. All travel must be completed by December 31, 2014. Not valid on free or award travel. Double Miles will not count towards Mileage Plan™ Elite Status. Club 49™ members are not eligible to receive Double Miles between Anchorage and Seattle as part of this promotion. Please allow four to six weeks for miles to be credited to your Mileage Plan™ account. All terms and conditions of the Mileage Plan™ program apply. Offer subject to change without notice.

  1. @andrewyvr @jamesw You do. 1000 minimum. Bonuses for already being elite work the same, so that flight if you’re MVP Gold is 1500 each way starting June 1.
