Alaska Airlines Cyber Monday Fare Sale Live

Alaska Airlines has just announced a Cyber Monday sale, which is valid for bookings made through December 9, 2013.

The promotion is valid for bookings made for flights between January 7 and March 5, 2014, for travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. There are, however, some exceptions, as follows:

Fare Rules: Purchase by 11:59 p.m. (PT) on December 9, 2013. Travel is valid Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from January 7, 2014 through March 5, 2014, including flights within the state of Alaska, with the following exceptions: Travel to and from Puerto Vallarta must be completed by February 4, 2014. Travel from all other Mexico destinations must be completed by February 19, 2014. Travel to and from Phoenix, Palm Springs, Santa Barbara and Tucson must be completed by February 13, 2014. Travel to Alaska is valid Thursdays through Saturdays. Travel from Alaska is valid Sundays through Tuesdays. Travel to Hawaii is valid Sundays through Wednesdays. Travel from Hawaii is valid Mondays through Thursdays. Travel to Mexico is valid Mondays through Thursdays. Travel from Mexico is valid Tuesdays through Fridays. Tickets must be purchased 14 days in advance.

Blackout Dates: Sale fares are not available for travel from February 14-22, 2014, with the following exceptions: Sale fares are not available for travel to Mexico from February 12-17, 2014, or from Mexico January 7-10, 2014.

You can search fares by departure city, and unlike many so called “sales,” this one actually has some amazing values. For example, departing Seattle, here are a few of the one-way fares I see:

  • Austin $89
  • Boston $124
  • Los Angeles $69
  • Philadelphia $99
  • San Diego $74
  • San Francisco $59

Availability on these fares is generally excellent. For example, I’m looking at a Philadelphia mileage run for next year, and it’s pretty tough to argue with a same day turn for less than $200 roundtrip, available almost every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday during the promotion period:

The best part is that as an MVP Gold you can cancel revenue tickets for free and whatever you paid will just be redeposited into your Alaska Airlines “wallet,” so this is a great way to speculatively lock in some mileage runs that can always be canceled at a later date.

(Tip of the hat to Mac)

  1. @ E — Whoops, I stand corrected. It looks like domestically one-ways are available for half the cost of a roundtrip, while internationally roundtrips are required.

  2. This can be stacked with the DEQM they are having, so SAN would be the best in terms of CPM.

For $148 R/T between SEA and SAN, you’d get 4200 EQM and RDM.

  3. With the as double eqm going on the san, lax and oak fares from sea are coming in around 3.5-3.6 cpm unless I am misunderstanding the promotion. You can also do multiple turns a day.

  4. I might regret this I just booked mci-sea-san-sea-san-sea-san-sea-mci… 15588 eqm at 3.884 cpm if my math is correct.
