What Mahan Air calls Lufthansa’s first class…

Mahan Air is an airline based in Tehran, Iran, that flies some of Lufthansa’s old A340-300 aircraft. Anyone that has flown Lufthansa’s old first class might recognize the seats they advertise as their “BusinessPlus” product.

Lufthansa, when Mahan Air is calling your first class product “BusinessPlus” you know it’s time to hurry up with the retrofits. šŸ˜‰

By the way, if you haven’t been to Mahan Air’s website lately, check it out. They have some of the most epic photography of their onboard product that I’ve ever seen.

(Tip of the hat to @PointsToPointsB)

  1. Ouch!

Mahan’s site is pretty interesting. Photography is a lot more realistic than most promo materials and, to their credit, the English version is a lot more understandable than Air China’s menu.

  2. “Modern lie-flat bed”?

Well, not modern, but seems like a good business class seat. Though they use the same pictures for economy and business class. What seats are used for their normal business class?

  3. I’m always amazed that airlines will sell off an aircraft with their product intact on it…I guess it makes for an easier sale, but then you are at risk of your brand being associated with a much less appealing operator. For example there’s a European charter carrier that has some old Virgin Atlantic A340s with the VS product fully intact, including bar, Upper Class seats, cabin finishes, etc.–I would have thought that given how much effort Virgin puts into their fairly unique product offering, they would not want it flying around out there under another brand.
