Alaska Airlines offering California residents free roundtrip after two roundtrip flights

Alaska Airlines is running a pretty lucrative promotion for Mileage Plan members with accounts registered in California.

To qualify you simply have to register and fly two roundtrips between San Diego and any of the following cities by November 20, 2013:

  • Boise
  • Boston
  • Fresno
  • Honolulu
  • Kahului (Maui)
  • Lihue (Kauai)
  • Los Cabos
  • Monterey
  • Orlando
  • Portland
  • Puerto Vallarta
  • Santa Rosa
  • Seattle

Now this would be really exciting if the “free ticket” came in the form of 25,000 Mileage Plan miles deposited into your account, though instead if you qualify you’ll get an email around December 20, 2013, with the code. The discount code has to be redeemed by January 31, 2014, for travel between January 7 and November 15, 2014, between San Diego and any Alaska Airlines destination. There does have to be saver coach award space available, and you still have to pay the taxes and fees on the ticket.

So it’s a nice promotion, though I wouldn’t mileage run solely to take advantage of this, unless it was a good deal to begin with.
