This place sure was happening at 8PM on a Friday night.

Amys Baking Company1

Will write a review once I manage to compose my thoughts, of which I have many.

On the plus side, I’m neither in the ER (yet) and wasn’t kicked out for being an internet bully!

And for those of you that have no clue what I’m talking about…

Wow. This has to be staged. If not, well then it has to be staged:)
No way could anyone act like that and if they did then please don't patronize their craptastic "restaurant". This couple deseve one another. I'm unsure who's crazier.
    Disgusting.
Scottsdale has some fabulous food. This is pure staged reality tv(I truly hope)...
Hate to say, but failing would do everyone a favor.

I suppose there’s somewhat of a morbid “train wreck” fascination with a place like that, but really, there are so many other restaurants out there that work really hard to please their customers, I would say just let this run the course and eventually close."

    Same here....

Same here. I honestly just don't get it. Makes me think twice about using the credit card sign up links if these are the kind of places where the commission money goes. Seriously Ben, WTF? Ugh.

Hmm this sounds like a great place to spend Halloween night. But I bet you it is booked.

Ben did you see them selling tshirts? I saw online they're selling tshirts that say something like "I survived Amy's Backing Company" for like $35. Ridiculous!

Look forward to reading about it!

I figured out how this restaurant stays in business.

People watch the Kitchen Nightmares episode, then they go to the restaurant to see it for themselves, then the realize that everything is exactly how it was on the show, then they write a bad review on yelp, and then other people read the reviews, then they want to check it out for themselves, then they leave bad reviews. The circle continues indefinitely.

    Best bet...

Best bet is to sell the restaurant to people who actually know how to run a restaurant.

ooh! I knew what it was from the first photo... I'm SO envious that you went for a visit. hope you took lots of photos (and they noticed you taking them too, hehe)... can't wait to read your review. :-) E

WOW! Totally unexpected ending! I was actually looking forward to see the improvements he would do since they actually had a nice, clean, organized kitchen and front of house (except for service, of course). I am in shock!

So, basically the "restaurant" is simply a set for a TV show, which features fake customers.

  10. Grant New Member

That was the craziest thing I have seen in a long time. WOW!

  11. Mark Guest

Awesome, next time I am in Phoenix and I need to get some frustration out, I know the place to go....

  12. Luis Guest

so, did you leave a tip?

  13. Jenny Guest

OMG! An unbelievable episode and people! It's all over the internet, as you know. Can't wait for your "review"!

  14. Jenny Guest

I just watched the video and.... Holy cow, those people are crazy and made me cringe the whole time. Can't wait to find out what you thought.

Wow -- you were two miles away from me. I would have bought you dinner. I haven't been to Amy's yet, though I drive by it all the time. I sort of thought that with all the notoriety people would be there checking it out.

    Last minute Avios redemption?

    ;)

Can't wait to read it. Didn't watch the video above, but wasn't this restaurant on Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares? I think I watched it on UA DTV-equipped flight, which makes this travel-related.

  18. trajan81 Guest

Ahahaha! Even better is the fact that it appears you were one of the few people who dared to enter. Glad to see that you survived.

  19. Narayana S New Member

Wow. I am surprised that somebody could muster the courage to go inside their restaurant after watching the show.

  20. Jeremy Guest

Awesome! I love the show and GR and watched that episode few months ago when it aired. Definitely one of the worst ones in its history! Can't believe they are still open for business.

Thanks for sharing that video, Lucky. Wow. I've watched five minutes and am looking forward to your review.
