Registration open for Hilton’s “Triple Your Trip” promotion

Hilton has just opened registration for their third quarter promotion, valid for stays between July 9 and September 30, 2013. Through this promotion, HHonors members that register prior to check-out earn double base HHonors points on stays Monday through Thursday nights, while they earn triple base HHonors points on stays Friday through Sunday nights.

If you’re staying over a mix of dates eligible for different bonuses, the average nightly rate will be used and bonus points will be allocated accordingly, which usually works out in your favor since weekday rates are typically higher than weekend rates.

Unfortunately there are over 600 hotels that opted out of the promotion, which really is damn embarrassing, in my opinion. Almost like SkyTeam, where you can’t even accrue Delta SkyMiles MQMs for travel on Korean Air that’s booked directly through them.

  1. I could understand maybe an affiliate not participating, but a mainline Hilton ? Including San Diego Gaslamp…guess I’ll use Hyatt.

  2. Actually, it’s understandable that San Diego would opt out, since San Diego Comic Con falls during those dates.

  3. Oof looking forward to this promotion a bit until I saw the opt out list. *smh* Hilton manages to do it again.

  4. @ M Simons — Keep in mind a vast majority of Hilton’s properties, whether “mainline” or not, are franchised, which is why (sadly) they often don’t have much control over the individual properties.

  5. Damn, I thought this BS was going to stop when they did the big devaluation. The quarterly promo after the devaluation had no opt-outs whatsoever.

  6. I’m in the middle of 14 Hilton nights (10 stays) around the US right now with about 4 more stays and 5 nights coming on July 9 or after… 2 of the hotels I have booked are on the list so I will be changing those and writing the hotel directly to let them know they lost my business specifically because of this… Probably won’t do anything but it feels like my duty as someone who can pick and choose to stay anywhere I want within company budget.

  7. After the massive recent devaluations, even triple points aren’t worth considering.

Hilton and SPG have lost all my loyalty. The incentives just aren’t there.

  8. Hilton Tokyo added to the list now? HUGE bummer…this one has always been a big points cow for me 🙁
