The Andaz Wall Street has especially good rates this summer that are worth pointing out, in my opinion. They have weekend rates starting at $202.50 on a AAA rate with free breakfast.
The advance purchase rate starts at $205 and the Hyatt Daily Rate starts at $225, though there’s no reason to book either of those when the AAA rate is so low.
The hotel is also (sort of) running a third night free promo, though you have to be logged into your Gold Passport account in order to see it.
The promo is called “Hyatt Free Time With Breakfast,” and is valid for three night stays with arrivals on Thursdays through Saturdays. You must book by November 30 for travel by December 30 to take advantage of this offer.
Anyway, the rates are oddly higher than the Hyatt Daily Rate, though not by much. While the Hyatt Daily Rate starts at $225 for much of the summer, the eligible rate to take advantage of this promotion starts at $245.
Still, when you factor in the third night being free, that brings down the average nightly rate to ~$163, which is really good for New York.
A couple of other things worth mentioning about the hotel:
- I know many people don’t like the location on Wall Street, but I don’t mind it at all. On weekends I find it quite relaxing since the area is dead. New York is the city that never sleeps, but Lucky is the blogger that’s never awake. So he likes how quiet Wall Street can be. Hmm, at what point did this post go third person (blogging tip: don’t do it at 5AM)?
- This hotel is very good about upgrading Diamond members to their Andaz Suites without using a suite upgrade. It’s worth noting that this room isn’t a true suite and used to be their “Andaz XL” room, so I don’t think it’s worth using a suite upgrade for, but it’s fantastic as a complimentary upgrade.
- The Andaz Wall Street apparently just opened a beer garden which serves pretzels (oh, and beer, but who cares about that?). They sure know how to keep me coming back!
Anyway, as much as I love the Andaz 5th Avenue, I don’t see any rates of under $300 there this summer, so it’ll be the Andaz Wall Street for me!
