Today only: 75,000 Membership Rewards points for American Express Business Gold Rewards card

UPDATE: The offer for the Business Gold Rewards Card from American Express OPEN is expired. You can find the best current offer here.

Today only American Express seems to be offering a 75,000 point sign-up bonus after spending $10,000 within four months on the American Express Enhanced Business Gold Rewards card.

The annual fee is waived the first year and $175 per year after that. This is a phenomenal sign-up bonus, so I’d jump on this in a heartbeat if you’re in a position to spend the $10,000 on the card within four months.

This card is also potentially a keeper, given that it offers triple points on air fare and double points on advertising, gas, and shipping. It’s essentially the business card equivalent of the Premier Rewards Gold Card from American Express, which is one of my favorites (except the Premier Rewards Gold card offers double points on groceries and dining instead of advertising and shipping).

Seriously, jump on this, you won’t regret it!

  1. The real annoyance is I was going to wait until March 15th to use a 50K Amex Plat referral. I got impatient and applied/got approval yesterday.

Even if I could get approved for this as well today, I don’t think I can meet the spend considering I have the Platinum to deal with plus the spend on some family members’ cards I’m working on too. (It’s nice when family lets you use their credit and take their points!)

  2. Remember business cards do not provide the same antifraud / theft protection that the law requires personal cards to.

  3. A couple of questions:

    – Can you charge Kiva micro-loans to Amex?
    – Is a hefty bonus for the personal Gold card also possible in the near-term?

  4. @ Explore — I’m not sure about the Kiva question. As far as the personal card goes, I haven’t seen any great bonuses on the card in the past year, so I doubt we’ll see them in the near future, unfortunately.

  5. Can someone comment on the approval process? I saw in different post somewhere that amex calls to review business apps. Curious what that process is like and what questions I should prepare to answer. thx

  6. Mine went through and was approved on-line and I also got an e-mail confirmation. Then, in the same minute, I got a second e-mail asking me to call.

In the application process I had asked for cards for my wife and daughter, and they wanted to confirm their physical address. I said we operated our business from our home (true) and the rep said OK; updated the account and approved the two additional cards.

Thanks for making me aware of this great offer!

  7. @ ace — Appreciate it, though sadly the link above isn’t my referral link. This offer is not “commissionable.”
