1,000 Membership Rewards points per Aloft, Element, or Four Points stay through November 15

Through November 15, 2011, Starwood is offering members that register 1,000 American Express Membership Rewards points for each eligible stay at an Aloft, Element, or Four Points hotel. You must pay for your stay with an American Express card enrolled in the Membership Rewards program (meaning co-branded airline or hotel cards are excluded). The bonus will come in the form of a certificate that will be emailed to the member 4-6 weeks after the promotion period ends.

1,000 Membership Rewards points is worth about $20 to me, so that’s not a bad bonus for a one night stay at one of Starwood’s cheaper brands. The bonus can be earned an unlimited number of times.

(Tip of the hat to Deals We Like)

  1. One key point is that once again this SPG/AMEX promo is only valid for US cardholders:

To be eligible to earn bonus points, you must be enrolled in the U.S. Membership Rewards program (“Program”) at the time the certificate is awarded.

  2. Funny. Absent a minimum spend requirement on another card, this is the first time that I would ever make a point of NOT using my SPG AmEx at an SPG property!

  3. How would 1,000 points be worth $20 to you? I have about 220,000 from a corporate card that I will lose if I don’t use them or convert them before my card is cancelled (switching jobs), so i’m trying to determine the best value for my points…

  4. If I had a qualifying stay using a Membership rewards-earning card on August 19th, but registered for the promotion on August 22nd, would I receive the MR bonus points for that stay?
