1. Yeah, so not fair! So where are you? I could post a picture from RDU but it would look nothing like wherever you are! Hope you are well. We need to catch up. Take care!

  2. @Lucky – make sure you have a big post at the end where you summarize where all of these photos are. I’ve been keeping tabs open for each one (ice cream, drug sign, this one) but I’m gonna close them all and count on you to deliver later. Wherever this one is, I want to be there!

  3. You really should be in Koh Samui rather than Phuket. We have sun right now rather than the torrential downpours followed by clouds that Phuket has been experiencing recently (and usually does this time of year).

TG even flies to USM from BKK now! (but the quick nonstop hop on an ATR-72 HKT-USM on Bangkok Airways would get you here a lot quicker, even if their only FF partner is EY)

  4. Puck is right; it’s the Westin Siray Bay Resort in Phuket — right behind the first of the individual villas when going up the hill to the exercise area, if I remember correctly.

As a Platinum member, did they automatically give you the upgrade to the villa with private pool, lucky? If not, ask for it!

Room service at that property is excellent, while the Italian fare is pretty mediocre. Try the Japanese breakfast if it’s included in your rate.

And yes, I hope you’re with someone — I certainly wasn’t when I was there in April, and it was a total bummer!

  5. I second Puck & deux centimes.

Looking forward to read more about it. I’m considering it for January.

The morning you posted about awards to Bali I had just booked ORD-HKG-DPS for new year’s, but then quickly realized it’d be raining and changed to SIN (where it should rain less).

  6. Definitely looks like a great place to bring a significant other… or just someone “significant” for the trip šŸ™‚

  7. Kev is certainly right. I hope the friend you’re traveling with is “an other.” You’re young enough that the significant adjective isn’t relevant šŸ˜‰

But really, Phuket in June? *shakes head*

  8. I grew up in Hong Kong, so I truly admire your ability to travel to Southeast Asia in hot hot August.

Gorgeous photo!! Can’t wait to read your review on this hot steamy trip…some of your readers seem to have a lively imagination and are living vicariously through you) šŸ™‚
