American offers double miles between Boston and Paris through September 15

American is offering double redeemable miles for travel on their nonstop flight between Boston and Paris. Registration is required here prior to travel using promotion code CDG2X, and the promotion is good for travel between July 11 and September 15.

It’s pretty obvious the route is struggling, despite them only operating a single daily flight on a Boeing 757. Given that American has cut the Boston hub so drastically, I assume they’re relying almost exclusively on origin and destination traffic to fill the plane, and that’s just not cutting it.

  1. If they really want to help the route then they should offer Double Elite Qualifying Miles.

Another question… since they route is dried up, this looks like a good chance to use this BOS CDG routing on AA metal for award routing to Europe??? Thereby bypassing the BA London tax/fuel fees and getting to Paris relatively tax free?
