Topguest adds more rewards partners!

Topguest, which offers miles and points for “checking in” at certain locations, has expanded their rewards partnerships. First of all, for those of you that have no clue what Topguest is, it’s basically an app that allows you to “check in” at certain places that you’re geographically close to and earn points. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe they do it because they can get quite a bit of customer data out of it, and they also hope you’ll share the updates on your Facebook or Foursquare account, giving the participating companies more exposure.

Priority Club was the first hotel chain to hop on the bandwagon, offering 50 Priority Club points per “check in.” Well, now there are several more partners. You can earn 25 Virgin America points at the terminal or baggage claim, 50 Hilton points at Doubletree hotels, 50 Wyndham points  at Wyndham hotels, and 50 Choice points at Quality Inn, Comfort Suites, or Cambria Suites properties. You’re typically limited to one check-in per day.

Is it worth your time? I guess it depends. Despite having stayed at many Priority Club properties since they started participating in Topguest, I haven’t “checked in.” I feel like it might be worthwhile if you’re staying at the hotel anyway, though probably not worth it otherwise. 50 Priority Club points is worth about 30 cents, so you decide…

  1. Quick question. Is it one check-in per hotel or one check-in for all of topquest. I checked into a couple hotels (doubletree and holiday inn) as I walked past them today and have received points for each of them before from topquest but wasn’t able to get them on the same day. Anybody else experiencing this?
