Yeah, I realize I’m a bit late to the party here. I apologize.
Anyway, as many of you probably know by now, American Express is offering certificates good for $100 off a two night stay for 1,500 Membership Rewards points through May 31, as opposed to the normal cost of 5,000 points. There are several restrictions, though. First of all, the certificates are valid for six months. Second, you can combine a maximum of two of these on a single stay. No, that doesn’t mean you can apply two to a single two night stay, but rather that you can apply two certificates to a four night stay. Next, the certificates aren’t valid at Park Hyatt Hotels, Hyatt International locations not indicated, Andaz, Hyatt Place Hotels, Hyatt Summerfield Suites, Grand Hyatt New York and Hotel Victor.
Furthermore, I’m sure many of you are like me by not spending more than a single night at any given property during the summer to take full advantage of Hyatt’s Big Welcome Back promotion, so this might not make sense. But if you happen to find yourself with a two night stay at an inexpensive Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, or Grand Hyatt, this might be worth considering. The reason I say it only makes sense for inexpensive Hyatt hotels is because technically this offer can’t be combined with other certificates, so I’m guessing they won’t take this in conjunction with the Hyatt gift checks from Costco, which can save you 20%. So on a $500 stay you’d be better off with the Hyatt gift checks than this.
But then again, I’m sure this will be valuable to someone…
