Transfer Hotel Points To Aeroplan And Get A 30% Bonus

Air-Canada

A few times per year Aeroplan offers a bonus when you convert hotel points into miles (most recently they offered one last November, and prior to that in August). Well, Aeroplan has just announced their latest bonus, and some might find it to be valuable.

You can earn up to a 30% bonus if you convert hotel points into Aeroplan miles between March 13 and April 17, 2017.

With this promotion, Aeroplan is offering tiered bonuses on transferred points, with the percentage bonus varying based on how many points you convert, as follows:

Delta Flash Sale: Save On Award Tickets To Europe ThIs Summer

Delta-One-London - 35

The major terms of the promotion are as follows:

Last Chance: Register To Earn 5x Points On Uber, Lyft, Gas Stations, Etc.

royal-brunei-business-class-787-2

The Chase Freedom is one of my favorite no annual fee credit cards, as it offers 5x points in rotating quarterly categories, for up to $1,500 of spend per quarter. Most people use this as a cashback card, meaning the 5x points really translates into 5% cashback in these categories.

The best part is that in conjunction with cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card or Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card, points earned on this card can be converted into “premium” Ultimate Rewards points, and be transferred to the Ultimate Rewards airline and hotel partners. Since I value one Ultimate Rewards point at significantly more than one cent, that’s my preferred use of those points.

From January 1 through March 31, 2017, Chase is offering 5x points on gas stations and local commuter transportation.

~$1,100 Roundtrip Qatar Airways Business Class Fares From Cairo To The US!

Qatar-Airways-A350-Business-Class-30

Qatar Airways consistently has great business class fares, especially for travel to the US (unfortunately the same can’t consistently be said for tickets originating in the US, though there are exceptions).

Cheap business class fares on Qatar Airways are a great way to rack up American AAdvantage miles, and even a great way to get accelerated earning towards American’s elite qualifying dollar requirement.

The market with the most consistently excellent Qatar Airways fares is Cairo, and Qatar Airways is back with some of the best fares I’ve ever seen out of Cairo.

Great United Business Class Fares To China — Fly Roundtrip For $1,700

UnitedPolarisLoungeChicago0532

With airline loyalty programs significantly less rewarding than they were a few years back, the good news is that discounted premium cabin fares are also cheaper than they used to be. So rather than being blindly loyal to an airline and dealing with the hassle of miles, nowadays when the price is right it can often make sense to just outright purchase the business class ticket you want.

That’s why I also think it’s worth pointing out great business class fares when I come across them. The past few years we’ve seen tons of sub-$2,000 roundtrip business class fares to Asia, and at the moment we’re seeing an especially good fare on United out of Toronto.

In general we’ve been seeing great transpacific airfare out of Canada, at least when priced in USD. Given that positioning to Toronto is quite easy from the east coast and midwest, this is a great opportunity to save a ton on the cost of airfare.

Today Only: 8 Bonus Miles Per Dollar Spent On Apple Purchases

Mileage-Plus-Portal

Yesterday I wrote about how for one day only, the American AAdvantage eShopping Portal was offering four bonus miles per dollar spent on Apple purchases. This is in addition to their spring bonus promotion at the moment, offering 300 bonus miles after spending $150, or 1,000 bonus miles after spending $350. Given that we don’t often see bonuses on Apple purchases, I considered that to be a pretty good deal.

Well, today there’s a deal for United flyers looking to make Apple purchases, and it’s even better.

Today only (Friday, March 10, 2017) you can earn eight bonus United MileagePlus miles per dollar spent on Apple purchases through the MileagePlus Shopping portal.

Great Deal: 20% Off Tumi Products

Tumi Bag

Tumi is a popular brand with road warriors. I realize a lot of people think their products are overpriced, and I don’t necessarily disagree. However, I think their quality is generally quite good, and ultimately there’s not a brand of luggage I see frequent flyers using more.

That’s one of the reasons I think any Tumi sale is worth pointing out, since it’s not often they discount their products. Well, at the moment Tumi is having a 20% off sale, which applies to a vast majority of their products, rather than just outdated models or stuff that’s on clearance.

You can see the discounted prices reflected directly on Tumi’s website, or you can purchase through Amazon (which would be my preference, since you can earn more points that way).

Today Only: Earn Additional Bonus Miles For Apple Purchases

Laptop

Online shopping portals can be a great way to pick up additional miles & points for purchases you’d make anyway. Just for following a specific link you can earn bonus points in addition to the ones you’d earn anyway for credit card spend.

It’s not uncommon to see huge mileage bonuses on high margin businesses (like flower shops, online dating sites, etc.). 😉 However, it’s rare to see increased mileage bonuses from retailers like Apple.

Today only (March 9, 2017), the American AAdvantage eShopping portal is offering four miles per dollar spent with Apple.

A Business Card Is Offering 10x Points On Hotels & Car Rentals

Sunset-Tower-Hotel - 14

Yesterday I wrote about how you can earn 10x points on hotels and car rentals booked through the Ultimate Rewards website with the Chase Freedom and Chase Freedom Unlimited. The promotion is valid for up to $2,500 worth of bookings through March 31, 2017, though the actual travel can occur at a later date.

Per Doctor of Credit, it looks like this offer is also valid on the Ink Business Cash℠ Credit Card, for up to $2,500 worth of spend. For rental cars, this offer is actually potentially even better than the one being offered by the Freedom or Freedom Unlimited. That’s because the Ink Business Cash offers primary collision damage waiver coverage for cars rented for business purposes, so it’s actually a card you’d want to use for a car rental.

While the Ink Business Cash is a cash back card, those points can be converted into Ultimate Rewards points in conjunction with a card accruing “premium” Ultimate Rewards points, which include the:

Earn 10x Points On Hotels & Car Rentals This Month

Westin-New-York-Times-Square - 4

Two of my favorite no annual fee cards are the Chase Freedom® Card and Chase Freedom® Unlimited. These are both no annual fee cards that can help you boost the Ultimate Rewards points you earn, in conjunction with cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card and Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card.

The Chase Freedom already offers 5x points in rotating quarterly categories, which is a great way to super charge the Ultimate Rewards points you earn. For example, this quarter the card is offering 5x points on Uber rides, which I can maximize quite easily.

There’s an added promotion for both the Chase Freedom and Chase Freedom Unlimited this month.

Good & Bad News With The British Airways Dating Site Offer

British-Airways-eStore

Since yesterday, British Airways’ online shopping portal has been offering double Avios on all purchases. That opened up quite a few opportunities, though nothing quite like the one available with match.com. You can ordinarily earn 75 Avios per dollar spent with match.com, but through this promotion you can earn 150 Avios per dollar spent. That’s like acquiring Avios for ~0.67 cents each, which is incredible.

As I explained, I decided to buy a one year subscription to match.com with all the add-ons. I was able to spend a total of $548.57. At a rate of 150 Avios per dollar spent, that should net me 82,285 Avios. That’s such a good offer that I also encouraged a couple of family members to join match.com.

When it comes to these amazing shopping portal deals, there are generally two concerns:

Should You Also Join eHarmony For 130 Avios Per Dollar?

eHarmony-2

As I wrote about earlier (and as discovered by Frequent Miler), British Airways’ online shopping portal is offering double Avios on purchases this weekend. This includes dating sites. The best of those is match.com, which is offering 150 Avios per dollar spent. That’s an insane deal, and an opportunity to buy Avios for 0.67 cents each.

So as I outlined, I signed myself up for match.com, as did several family members. Dating isn’t usually a family activity, but when you’re earning 150 Avios per dollar, why not? My general philosophy on opportunities like this is that when a great deal comes around, take full advantage of it, so that’s why I tried to buy the most expensive packages being offered.

Some readers asked if I could write a similar guide to the process of signing up for eHarmony, so that’s what this post is about. eHarmony is offering 130 Avios per dollar spent, rather than 150 Avios. That’s a rate of 0.77 cents per Avios, which is still very good. However, in the end I decided not to take advantage of this, despite going through the whole process. Why?

JetBlue Is Offering Double Points On All Flights This Spring

JetBlue-Mint - 2

JetBlue has just announced a great promotion for travel over the coming months. TrueBlue members can earn double base points (which even count towards status) for flights through April 30, 2017.

In order to be eligible you need to register and book by March 23, 2017, and registration is required prior to booking eligible travel. That means that unfortunately previously booked travel doesn’t count towards this promotion.

Ordinarily you earn three base points per dollar spent on airfare, plus an additional three points per dollar spent on tickets booked through JetBlue’s website. That means through this promotion you’re earning a total of six base points per dollar spent, and a total of nine TrueBlue points per dollar spent. Mosaic members earn an additional three points per dollar spent.

I Earned 82,285 Avios For Joining A Dating Website!

Avios-Dating-Site-9

As I wrote about earlier (and as discovered by Frequent Miler), British Airways’ online shopping portal is offering double Avios on purchases this weekend. This includes dating sites. The best of those is match.com, which is offering 150 Avios per dollar spent. That’s an insane deal, and an opportunity to buy Avios for 0.67 cents each.

So, even though I’m happily in a relationship, I have my priorities in order — I refuse to turn down points at that rate!

I figured I’d outline the process, so you can do this too. For me the entire process took just 15 minutes, and that included taking screenshots, filling out my profile, etc.
