I tend to thinK Hyatt’s co-branded credit card is worth having for the annual free night certificate alone. The card has a $75 annual fee, and offers an annual free night valid at any Category 1-4 Hyatt property. However, lately we’ve seen several great promotions targeted at those with the card, which make the card even more worthwhile. For example:
- Between June 1 and September 5, Hyatt offered a 10% refund on redeemed points
- Between August 14 and September 25, Hyatt offered a $20 statement credit when making a $50+ Whole Foods purchase
- Hyatt is offering Globalist status after just 20 nights between September 1 and December 30, 2017
It’s ironic that there are so many great promotions for those with Hyatt’s co-branded credit card, while the World of Hyatt program as such has had very few promotions for members.
Well, Hyatt has just announced yet another promotion for those with the Hyatt Visa Card. Between October 2, 2017, and January 1, 2018, those with Hyatt’s credit card get a $50 statement credit after they spend $300 or more at a Hyatt Place or Hyatt House property.
Cardmembers must register their card between October 2 and October 31, 2017, using their name, World of Hyatt number, and credit card number. You can qualify for the statement credit based on cumulative spend, meaning you don’t need to spend that entire amount in one transaction. New cardmembers are eligible for this promotion as well, as long as they register by the deadline. Existing reservations booked with Hyatt qualify as well.
The Hyatt Card already offers triple points for spend at Hyatt hotels, so in addition to that great return, you can get $50 back on $300 of spend, which is a great deal. Assuming you have an upcoming stay at a Hyatt Place or Hyatt House property, taking advantage of this deal is an absolute no brainer.
Now if only World of Hyatt would have some promotions for their members, rather than just those with their co-branded credit card…
