While I’m not someone who does a lot of shopping (well, assuming we don’t include flight and hotel shopping), there are a few companies where I’m always looking out for discounts on gift cards. Among these are Amazon, iTunes, Starbucks, and Uber, just to name a few. These are companies where I consider a gift card to be roughly worth face value, since it’s money I’d spend anyway.
Well, at the moment Amazon is selling $100 iTunes gift cards for $85, which is a fantastic deal.
I bought the gift card using part of my Amazon balance. I earned 5x points on my Amazon balance by buying Amazon gift cards, meaning that I’m paying $85 and earning the equivalent of 425 points for the purchase. So really I’m paying $85 and getting ~$8 worth of points, meaning my real “out of pocket” here is ~$77. Deal!
This discount won’t last, so if you’re interested I’d recommend ordering ASAP.
