Now Bookable: 100+ IHG Hotels For Just 5,000 Points Per Night!

In the interest of full disclosure, One Mile At A Time earns a referral bonus for anyone that’s approved through some of the below links. These are the best publicly available offers that we have found for each card. Please check out our advertiser policy for further details about the partners we work with. Thanks for your support!

IHG Rewards Club’s PointBreaks is traditionally one of the best promotions in the hotel industry. Through this promotion, select hotels are available for just 5,000 points per night. I value IHG points at ~0.5 cents each, so to me that’s the equivalent of booking a hotel stay for ~$25 per night.

The InterContinental Bandung Dago Pakar is the only InterContinental property on this PointBreaks list

If you have the IHG® Rewards Club Select Credit Card you get a 10% refund on points redemptions, for a refund of up to 100,000 points per year. That lowers the cost per award night for those with the card to 4,500 points, which is even better. If you don’t yet have the card, it has an increased sign-up bonus at the moment, and applying for it should be a no brainer for most. The card offers IHG Rewards Club Platinum status for as long as you have the card, plus an anniversary free night certificate, valid at virtually any IHG property in the world.

IHG’s newest round of PointBreaks hotels is now bookable at the below links (we shared the list on Friday before it became bookable), valid for bookings and stays between July 31 and October 30, 2017. There are 100+ hotels participating in this round of PointBreaks, and as of now they’re actually bookable.

Keep in mind that each member can only book two PointBreaks reward night reservations per hotel per promotion period. Those stays can be for as long as you’d like, but you are limited to two reservations. Furthermore, keep in mind that the better hotels tend to book out quickly.

With that in mind, here’s the full list of properties participating in this round of PointBreaks:

  1. When I try to book any of these hotels, I get an error message and it says I need to call customer care. So strange.

  2. Same for me. I got through to reservation person who couldn’t book the room either. Anyone having success?

  3. I get the same error! points are being deducted from my account, but no confirmation – only an error.

  4. Pressed the final booking confirm button, says error. Pressed it again, error again. 2x 5k points got deducted from my account but no email confirmation and nothing on my upcoming reservations online. Had to call CS who was able to give me the confirmation number*s*, one of which I then had to cancel!

  5. I’m guessing their reservation system is overwhelmed. I got the same problem as others: no reservation confirmation screen, but points deducted. Also in my IHG Rewards account page, it listed as recent activity the award booking I just made, but I couldn’t see the booking itself (or any of my other bookings) under “upcoming reservation”. I called them and they were able to find the reservation and give me the confirmation number, so everything’s fine. About an hour later, all my reservations show up in my account.

  6. I didn’t run into the issues described above, but, when I went through the regular Web site, the 5,000 mile rate was not offered. When I went through the PointsBreaks link, I was immediately able to see and book the 5,000 mile price.

  7. I booked 2 Holiday Inn Express (one in Connecticut and one in New Brunswick) on my iPhone app about 12:30 EDT. Had no problem–went right through. I got immediate confirmations and the correct points were deducted.
