  1. I agree that the hotel is much nicer after the renovation and I like that they have preserved the charcoal etchings over the beds from their remodel several years ago. In fact my only complaint is that although I am Ambassador level SPG and have stayed numerous time (most recently in the same suite this past March), I have never received any type of welcome amenity at this property. I contrast this with properties such as the Westin Gaslamp ( a bland corporate hotel owned by the same folks as US) which gives Ambassador level guests a welcome amenity along with Sheraton Mission Bay San Diego which at least gives a note plus a great SPG lounge with unrivaled bay views. Maybe I’m just jealous of your reception Ben!
