Earn 25K Points For Referring Friends To The Hilton Surpass Card

In the interest of full disclosure, One Mile At A Time earns a referral bonus for anyone that’s approved through some of the below links. These are the best publicly available offers that we have found for each card. Please check out our advertiser policy for further details about the partners we work with. Thanks for your support!

At the moment we’re seeing the biggest ever sign-up bonus on the Hilton Honors™ Surpass® Card from American Express. The card is offering a sign-up bonus of 100,000 Hilton Honors bonus points after spending $3,000 in purchases within the first three months. On top of that, you get a free weekend night valid at virtually any Hilton Honors hotel on your first cardmember anniversary.

The card has a reasonable $75 annual fee, and also gets you Hilton Honors Gold status for as long as you have the card. That’s great mid-tier hotel status, as it gets you free breakfast, premium rooms, bonus points, etc.

Anyway, for those of you who have the Hilton Surpass Card, you can earn a generous bonus of 25,000 Honors points for referring friends to the card. Simply log into your Amex account at this link, and you should see the offer.

Amex-Surpass

You can earn up to 80,000 bonus points per calendar year through this offer, meaning you’d earn 25,000 points for each of your first three successful referrals, and 5,000 points for your fourth successful approval.

Ford was approved for the Hilton Surpass Card just a few days ago, and hasn’t even activated the card yet. However, when he’s logged into the account he already sees the opportunity to refer people.

So even if you don’t have the card yet, this is another great reason to apply for it. For example, you could get the card, and then if you have a spouse or friend who is considering applying, you’d get 25,000 bonus points. If you don’t have the card yet, that’s a way to view the sign-up bonus as being potentially even bigger.

The process of referring people to an Amex card is super straightforward. You’ll be prompted to enter their name and email address. Then within a few minutes they should receive an email inviting them to apply. If they apply through that link, you’ll earn the bonus.

Alternatively you can just email yourself the invitation to apply, and then send them the exact referral link directly.

Bottom line

The sign-up bonus on the Hilton Surpass Card is the best we’ve ever seen. Earning 100,000 points upon completing minimum spend, plus a free weekend night on your account anniversary, is a great sign-up bonus. Now you can earn a further 80,000 points by referring people to the card. If you don’t have the card yet you can apply, and shortly after being approved you should already be able to refer people.

  1. How long does it typically take to be eligible for an upgrade from the Amex Honors card?
I still can’t upgrade after having mine for 8 months, so wondering if I’ll need to go for a hard pull instead.

  2. @ Justin — Usually you have to wait a year. I’d apply for the card so you get the sign-up bonus anyway, which you likely wouldn’t get if you upgraded. That’s a big sign-up bonus that’s well worth the hard pull, in my opinion.

  5. Hi! I don’t leave in US and no social s curtiu number here. Any tip to apply for the HHonnors card without social security? I have already an AMEX issued by my bank. Thank you.

  6. Does anyone know if a spouse referral would gain the 25k bonus ?
I have already been approved for the card and my spouse has also been approved.
The cards are due to arrive in the next several days and I wonder if the 25k bonus could be retroactively applied to my account ?

    Thanks to all that respond.
I will also query Hilton Honors after any advice here is given.
All they can say is no.

  7. Hey Lucky, I just added my newly received Surpass to my existing amx online profile; but I cannot find this referral. Should I assume you have to have this card for a certain period of time before the refer a friend option shows up? Otherwise, is there a way to refer a friend without the offer showing up within my amx profile?
