Earn 10,000 Bonus Miles For Each Delta Amex Referral

In the interest of full disclosure, One Mile At A Time earns a referral bonus for anyone that’s approved through some of the below links. These are the best publicly available offers that we have found for each card. Please check out our advertiser policy for further details about the partners we work with. Thanks for your support!

Update: The public offers for the Delta SkyMiles® Credit Cards are expired. The higher offer is still available through the refer-a-friend program, as outlined below.

A few credit card companies will let you earn bonus points for referring your friends to cards you already have. After all, what better way to market a card than to have satisfied customers tell their friends about it?

American Express offers one of these refer-a-friend programs. As some of you may recall, there are some limited time increased sign-up bonuses on the Delta American Express Cards at the moment, including the following cards:

While you usually earn 5,000 bonus miles for each friend you refer to one of the above cards, at the moment American Express is offering 10,000 bonus miles for each friend you refer to the Delta Amex, which is double the usual bonus. In order to earn the higher bonus, just use the special site 10kforyou.com — if you just go through American Express’ usual site you’ll just see the 5,000 mile bonus.

There you’ll be asked which product you want to refer someone to. You can only refer people to the same card product you have. You’ll be prompted to enter their name and email address, and then they’ll receive an email inviting them to apply with the increased bonus as well.

It can take a while for the emails to arrive (sometimes it takes 5-10 minutes, sometimes longer), so you’ll want to tell your friends to be patient. Alternatively, you can just email yourself an invitation and then copy the application link in the email address, and then send it to your friends directly.

The basic terms of this promotion are as follows:

  • Bonus miles should post 6-8 weeks after your referred friend is approved for the card (though in practice miles may post much sooner)
  • You can earn up to 55,000 Delta SkyMiles per year through this program
  • The 10,000 miles per referral promotion is valid through February 1, 2017 (which isn’t to say that the current increased sign-up bonuses on the cards will last that long)
  • You can only refer people to exactly the kind of card you have

Bottom line

The increased sign-up bonuses on the Delta American Express cards are compelling, so if you have one of the cards and want to refer a friend, be sure to go through this site. Meanwhile if you don’t yet have one of the Delta Amex cards, I’d definitely recommend signing up for one. Then you can potentially still refer friends to any of those cards.

  1. Interesting that the public offer ends on Nov 9th, but my referral link even with the larger sign bonus is good till January. Works out nicely as i will refer my wife but will need to wait so we can meet other min spends.

  2. As long as they actually honor the bonus miles. Chase managed to avoid paying me a 10k Sapphire Preferred bonus about 5 months ago and I’m still waiting to see another one. The promise of this bonus got me talking to family and friends about the card but Chase had better be very generous in paying up on the bonus; I’m at the point that, even though I still see crazy value in the Chase cards, I just am not talking about it with people anymore. Refusing to honor just the first one really soured me from talking about the cards I use.

  3. Do you know how soon after meeting the 5k minimum spend requirement do the bonus MQMs post for the DL platinum card?

Hoping to get the MQMs to post and count for 2016. Thanks.

  4. If you had the cards years ago does referral help approval or still denied because of once in a lifetime rule?

  5. I would like to get the Delta Business Platinum card. Would someone who has the card like to send me a referral for it?

  6. Gold Delta SkyMiles® AMEX Credit Card Referral (USA)

Let me know your first name and email address for a Gold Delta SkyMiles® AMEX Credit Card Referral link sent by AMEX.

    Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card
50,000 bonus miles after they use their new Card to make $2,000 in purchases within the first 3 months† and a $50 statement credit after they make a Delta purchase with their new Card within the first 3 months.† Special offer ends 2/1/2017.†

I can also have AMEX email you a referral link for the following cards:

    1) Premier Rewards Gold Card
25,000 Membership Rewards® points after they use their new Card to make $2,000 in purchases in their first 3 months.†

    2) Starwood Preferred Guest® Credit Card
25,000 Starpoints after they use their new Card to make $3,000 in purchases within the first 3 months.†

  7. Thanks, Robin. Unfortunately, I already have both the Delta Gold and the Starwood card. I am looking to get the Delta Platinum Business.

  8. I would also like to get the Delta Business Platinum card and would love to be referred for it as I won’t be applying until after Nov. 9th. If anyone is able to refer me please let me know and thanks in advance!

  9. AMEX refused to honor two referrals I made for the Hilton Surpass cards. Both friends applied from the email link I sent them in front of me (I helped them fill out the online apps) yet Amex concluded after their “investigation on the backend” that the accounts were opened online with no trace of a referral code. I think it had to do with the fact that the accounts were opened during the last 100k Hilton points offer…it may have been rich enough and AMEX didn’t want to pay out any more points. Very dishonest and I will not be referring anymore people to them through the referral program. I was surprised by this as I have had very positive experiences with them otherwise.

  10. Hey, I would be happy to refer someone. I have a delta platinum american express. Didn’t realize you have to have specific Delta card to refer. Send me name and email. I guess that is all I need.

  11. Yes I’d be happy to:) I guess you’ll have to send your name to me. Is there a way to sent it privately on this board?

  12. @Sandy
I don’t see a way to send a private message. Are you on Facebook? We can message there and I’ll send you my email.

    I’m at facebook.com/cynthiadorminey

  13. If anyone would like a referral to the Delta Platinum Business card (not the personal card), I now have it and can give you a referral link. This is what I was looking for and no one seemed to have it. But if you’re interested in it, I can give you the link.

  14. I can provide a link for Delta Platinum (Personal) AmEx card with 70,000 bonus miles + 10,000 Medallion® Qualification Miles (MQMs) + $100 statement credit after a Delta purchase. Just need your email address.

  15. If there is still an opportunity to be referred for the Delta Platinum Personal Amex that would be great. Please email me at dantracey1 at gmail.com. Thanks so much!

  16. As follow-up to my offer above re the personal Amex Delta Platinum card, I’d also be happy to provide a referral to the *Business* Amex Delta Platinum card.

  17. For anyone interested in the Delta Platinum card with 70,000 bonus miles, $100 statement credit and only having to spend the $3,000 in three months (versus $5,000) please let me know. Can be reached at jmaxo@outlook.com. I’ll need your first name and email address for referral.

    Thanks – Jim.

  18. @lucky

Ouch, Lucky, that kinda hurts. Kevin asked me for the referral and you went ahead and sent him one. I understand that this is your blog, but considering he specifically asked me or @RR for it (and I have much less when it comes to miles than you do), I wish you would have let one of us do it. Thanks for understanding.

  19. If anyone wants a referral for the Amex Delta Gold, please let me know. The 10000 bonus points is still active if you refer using the app. Thanks

  20. For anyone interested in the Delta Platinum (business or personal) card with 70,000 bonus miles, $100 statement credit please let me know. Can be reached at jkish24@gmail.com Just let me know what email address you’d like it sent tol.

    Thanks
