Per flyingsophie on FlyerTalk, there are some incredible discounted business class fares available from various points in Europe to the US for travel on oneworld (they’re not available in the other direction, from the US to Europe). It seems the good fares are available mostly out of Germany and Switzerland.
The catch is that outbound travel has to occur on any of the following dates:
- November 22-29, 2016
- February 10-April 15, 2017
So as you can see, the fare is valid for over Thanksgiving and then again next spring. There’s a Sunday night minimum stay required on all these fares.
For example, you can fly roundtrip business class from Dusseldorf to Chicago on Iberia for ~$1,165:
Or you can fly roundtrip business class from Munich to Seattle for ~$1,500:
If you’re interested in this fare I’d recommend booking soon, as I doubt this fare will last. Depending on the exact time of fare, the expiration date seems to either be tonight or Monday, though the fare could always be pulled sooner as well. As usual, the best place to search these fares is either ITA Matrix or Google Flights.
Furthermore, keep in mind that if you do choose to travel over Thanksgiving, you can qualify for British Airways’ promotion offering triple Avios. British Airways discounted business class tickets ordinarily earn 150% mileage, so you’d earn 450% mileage through this promotion.
This is a fantastic deal for Europe based readers. While we often see discounted business class tickets out of Dublin, for example, it’s rare to see fares this good out of Germany, and especially out of Switzerland. If you’re looking for a getaway this fall or next spring, I’d definitely consider one of these fares.
Does anyone plan on booking one of these cheap business class fares to the US?
