OMG: Video Of Guy Running Across Tarmac To Catch Ryanair Flight

While I’ve seen a countless number of videos of people throwing temper tantrums after missing their flights, I’ve never seen a video of someone literally running to “catch” their flight.

Check out this video of a guy who missed his Ryanair flight in Madrid, and somehow managed to get onto the jet bridge, jump onto the tarmac, and then run after his plane in hopes of being let on:

  1. WOW.

Amazing he didn’t hurt himself jumping off the airbridge with two large bags – I thought he would’ve snapped his knees or at least hurt his legs. Didn’t know it was possible to jump from the height of a B737 safely.

  2. This would be called enterprising, take charge of things etc etc in an interview in the usa. He should be offered a leadership position.

  3. Wow!!! If I am the pilot and see him doing that I would make sure to open the door and let him in. He deserves that after all the effort. LOL!!!!!!!!

  4. I’m sure that the RyanAir ground operations folk escorted him back to the terminal, introduced him to the RyanAir Passenger Service Manager who took him to the RyanAir V.I.P. lounge and apologized, over a glass of Dom and some tapas, for his being inconvenienced, put him up for the night in the Madrid Four Seasons and upgraded him to RyanAir first class on the next available flight.

  5. @ Luda: you can google “engine ingestion accident” but be prepared to see some pictures that are really graphic and not pretty

  6. Something similar happened at the airport where I work once as well, only that was from a groundlevel boarding gate, two idiots were late for their flight, so they pushed the emergency door openers (this is concidered breaking and entering in my country) and started running for their plane. This is the day I found out that airplanes do have horns.

I believe they were charged with breaking and entering.

  7. This is a great video of Delta’s “Passenger Re-Accommodation Policy”.

All Delta flights grounded worldwide because somebody tripped over a line cord in Atlanta?
No Problem! “We’ve re–booked you on the next-available RyanAir flight. Just catch the flight through that jetway over there…”

  9. Haha – good memories of my family and other travelers running behind a flight in Algiers in the 1980s because they forgot to announce the flight’s departure.

  10. Are we going to get another expose of how people should leave their bags behind in circumstances like these?! Maybe he woulda made the flight if he left the bag behind!

  11. “Maybe he woulda made the flight if he left the bag behind!”

    “woulda”? Nope. It’s “would have”.

  12. This is old school, we had to walk across the Tarmac with our bags to board planes and sometimes we ran, never had to jump down 20 feet though.
