Club Carlson has just announced their latest summer promotion, entitled “Get Online And Get Going.”

Club-Carlson-Promo

Through this promotion, Club Carlson is offering 2,000 bonus Gold points per night booked through their website or mobile app. This promotion is valid for eligible stays between July 7 and September 27, 2015. This includes all revenue stays which are eligible for the accrual of Gold Points — in other words, award stays and Points + Cash stays are excluded. Registration is required prior to your first eligible stay.

Personally I value Club Carlson points at ~0.4 cents on the high end, so to me this is like an additional return of $8 per night. That might not sound like much, but given how cheap many Club Carlson properties are, that’s not a terrible additional return. Admittedly Club Carlson points aren’t as valuable as they were before they eliminated the second free night benefit on the Club Carlson Premier Rewards Visa Signature® Card, and then devalued their award chart. But there are still some great uses of the points.

Keep in mind that Club Carlson often has several promotions which stack, which is why Club Carlson can be great for staycations. For example, through July 31, 2015, Club Carlson is also offering elite members 20,000 bonus points for stays of five or more nights.

Is this a reason to stay at Club Carlson properties this summer? No, probably not. There are several chains running decent promotions, including Hyatt and Starwood. But if you’re going to stay at a Club Carlson property anyway, you might as well take advantage of this promotion.

The full terms of the promotion are as follows:

The “Get Online and Get Going Promotion” (“Promotion”) is valid for 2,000 bonus Gold Points (“Bonus Points”) each night during Eligible Stays. To participate in the Promotion, you must register at clubcarlson.com/online, make a reservation for an Eligible Stay on a Carlson Rezidor website or mobile app, and complete and pay for the Eligible Stay between July 7, 2015 and September 27, 2015 (“Promotional Period”). You must be a Club CarlsonSM member. Members may earn unlimited Bonus Points during the Promotional Period. Stays paid for using Points + Cash are not eligible for this Promotion. Both the check-in and checkout dates of the stay must take place within the Promotional Period. Promotion registration must be completed before checkout. Bonus Points will be credited to your account when the standard Gold Points are credited for the Eligible Stay. Bonus Points do not apply to Elite member bonus points or other bonus point earnings. Club Carlson Terms and Conditions apply.

Bottom line

The “Get Online And Get Going” promotion isn’t in and of itself a reason to stay at Club Carlson properties, though it’s a nice bonus if you’re considering staying at one anyway. If Club Carlson announces another promotion or two for stays this summer, it could prove to be quite lucrative.

Do you have plans to stay at any Club Carlson properties this summer? Are you still interested in the program post-devaluation?
