Here Are The Daily Getaways Packages Still On Sale

Over the past several weeks I’ve written about Daily Getaways, which has been a great opportunity to purchase hotel points and travel packages at a discount. It’s sponsored by the US Travel Association, and for five weeks they were offering discounted travel packages every weekday.

While the five weeks of promotions ended last week, there are still some packages on sale which didn’t sell out. They’re potentially available through May 8, or whenever they sell out — whichever comes first.

Not surprisingly the best packages sold out in a matter of minutes, so there aren’t that many awesome packages left. That being said, there are a few which might still be worth considering.

Here are the 16 Daily Getaways packages still on sale as of now:

I think the value here which is most worth considering is the ability to purchase IHG Rewards Club points for 0.6 cents each or less. As I explained on the day they went on sale, here are the available packages of IHG Rewards Club points:

# Of PointsCostCost Per Point# Of PackagesLimit
15,000 IHG Rewards Club$900.6 cents/point1,0005
25,000 IHG Rewards Club$1500.6 cents/point1,0004
50,000 IHG Rewards Club$2930.586 cents/point1,5004
100,000 IHG Rewards Club$5650.565 cents/point3,8503

The Loews and Omni packages could represent a great value as well, depending on your travel patterns.

Bottom line

There’s nothing out of the ordinary or new here, though I do think it’s worth pointing out that the promo isn’t completely over, so if you still want to buy a package, there are some available.

I do think with a specific use in mind the above could all potentially represent a good value.

Are there any remaining Daily Getaways packages which interest you?

Comments

  1. A word of warning on the Omni packages — we got great value out of them last year, so I purchased two packages again this year. I received the order confirmation and, a few days later, the voucher codes. Unfortunately, they have as yet proven to be completely useless.

The website Omni provides to redeem the codes simply does not recognize them as valid for any dates at any property under any circumstances. I have wasted *hours* fighting with the system, writing e-mails to Omni corporate (who has proven to be equally useless), calling and e-mailing hotels directly, all with no resolution to the issue.

My next step will be to simply request a chargeback through my credit card and write Omni off completely. It’s mind-boggling that a hotel chain as small as Omni could have such dysfunctional internal communication that they can’t figure out how to address this situation, but that seems to be the case.

    Caveat emptor.

  2. Wish hilton points were available. I bought IHG 100K, but should have gotten Hilton instead. Am based on ME and at least in this region (Cairo, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha etc), I found hilton points are very useful having some terrific value. For example, I am in Doha for a couple of days and am staying in Hilton Doha. It normally costs around $250 but I am paying only 16000 pt + USD $62 (Points & Cash). And found that the hotel (& its nice beach, exec lounge) is terrific too (based on my 5-6 different hotel experience in Doha).

  3. Ben,

How long does it take for the points to post to your account? I’m seeing a really good rate at the London Mayfair HI that would save me a schlep to and from Wembley for my dates of travel.

  4. @jessie – Hilton points and awards are among the most competitive in any region of the world, claims to the contrary by ignorant bloggers notwithstanding. Furthermore, while I am sure that you easily searched and found cash+points awards online at Hilton.com, good luck finding such awards online at Hyatt.com! You see, the bloggers’ favorite loyalty program does not offer the ability to search for c+p awards online, while ‘lesser’ programs like HHonors have been providing this invaluable feature for years!
