As I first posted about several weeks ago, Daily Getaways is back earlier than normal this year, and is a great opportunity to purchase hotel points and travel packages at a discount. It’s sponsored by the US Travel Association, and every weekday for five weeks they’re offering discounted travel packages. We’re now in the home stretch of Daily Getaways, as this is the last week of the 2015 promotion.

Today at 1PM we’re seeing 20 Fairmont Hotel stay packages go on sale. These are split between their properties in Hawaii and Scottsdale, as follows:

6 Nights In Hawaii Fairmont For $1,780

Through this offer you’ll receive six Ovation Rewards certificates, each redeemable for a one night stay and breakfast for two at your choice of two Fairmont Hawaii Properties (The Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui or the The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii). The certificates don’t expire, and can be split up, meaning you don’t have to make a six night stay at once. You can make six one night stays, two three night stays, etc.

Fairmont claims the estimated value of this package is $2,600.

3 Nights At Fairmont Scottsdale For $610

Through this offer you’ll receive three Ovation Rewards certificates, each redeemable for a one night stay and breakfast for two at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. The certificates don’t expire, and can be split up, meaning you don’t have to stay all three nights at once.

Fairmont claims the estimated value of this package is $1,000.

Which credit card to use?

Keep in mind Daily Getaways purchases are processed by Daily Getaways, and not by Fairmont directly. In other words, purchasing a Fairmont package won’t count as “hotel spend” for the purposes of your credit card.

However, Daily Getaways is considered a “travel” provider, so you can still earn bonus points for your Daily Getaways purchases:

Bottom line

With only a total of 20 packages on sale, I’m sure they’ll see out quickly — in particular the Hawaii packages. While they won’t be useful for everyone, the no doubt represent a great value for anyone headed to Hawaii in the near future. The added benefit of these packages is that they don’t expire, so there’s no rush to use them.

Do you plan on trying to buy a Fairmont package through Daily Getaways?

  1. You really need to play with the dates here for the Hawaii package make sense. You can get 6 nights at the Fairmont Orchid including 6 days of car rental at Costco Travel for $1800 for May. However, it will be much higher if you try to book in July.
