2,000 Bonus Starpoints Per Tribute Portfolio Stay

Earlier today I wrote about Starwood’s newest hotel brand, Tribute Portfolio. The brand’s motto is “Stay Independent,” and it will consist of boutique independent hotels, primarily in the US and Europe.

So far five Tribute locations have been announced. The first Tribute property will be the Royal Palm South Beach Miami, which will be the only Tribute Property in 2015. Starting in 2016 more properties will be opened, including in Asheville, North Carolina, Nashville, Tennessee, Savannah, Georgia, and Charleston, South Carolina.

To celebrate Starwood’s 10th hotel brand, they’re offering up to 10,000 bonus Starpoints for eligible paid stays at the Royal Palm South Beach Miami through July 15, 2015. Through this promotion you earn 2,000 bonus Starpoints for each stay, so you can earn a bonus for up to five stays.

Registration is required in order to qualify for the promotion, and bonus Starpoints should post two to four weeks after the completion of the qualifying stay.

This isn’t a cheap hotel, with weekday rates starting at $269. So it’s certainly not worth staying at this hotel simply to take advantage of the bonus promotion.

That being said, I am excited to check out the first Tribute Portfolio property, and this is certainly a nice bonus. I value Starpoints at ~2.2 cents each, so those 2,000 bonus points you get are worth ~$44 to me.

Bottom line

The marketing of this promo is a bit odd, given that they’re making it sound as if there are several hotels you can earn this bonus at. In reality you earn 2,000 bonus Starpoints per revenue stay at the Royal Palm South Beach Miami, since that’s the only Tribute Portfolio hotel which will be open during the promotion period.

In and of itself that’s not a reason to stay at the hotel, but if you’re like me and are curious to check out the hotel, it’s a nice added bonus.

Do you plan on staying at the Royal Palm South Beach Miami in the coming months?
