I’ve written in the past about the lucrative hotel promotions being offered by beVancouver, which offer gift cards for Vancouver hotel stays in the off season. They most recently offered promotions in the spring of 2014 and the fall of 2014.
Gift cards for Vancouver hotel stays through April 30, 2015
Anyway, beVancouver is back with their latest promotion for hotel stays. The promotion is valid for bookings and check-ins made by April 30, 2015.
They’re offering Amex prepaid gift cards of $50, $75, $100, or $125 per booking (not per night). While that was the only bonus in the past, this time around they’re actually offering a $50 gift card for every additional night after the first night.
You’re also limited to a maximum of three bookings per person through this promotion — all subsequent bookings won’t qualify for the gift cards.
There are substantial savings here for all types of hotels. On the low-end, you can find $80 per night hotels with $50 gift cards (and keep in mind you get a $50 gift card for each subsequent night, so you can book the below hotel for ~$30 per night):
In the mid-tier, you can book hotels like the Sheraton for $190 per night with a $100 gift card:
And then on the high-end, properties like the Shangri-La can be had for ~$275 per night with a $125 gift card:
As you can see, there are some great deals to be had, especially for one night stays.
Don’t forget American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts
I do think it’s worth noting that if you’re looking at booking a luxury hotel you’ll also want to consider booking through American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts or Virtuoso.
For example, the Shangri-La can be booked through American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts on a refundable rate for a similar price (this is in USD, while above rate is in CAD).
And on top of that it comes with the following benefits:
- Noon check-in, when available
- Room upgrade upon arrival, when available
- Daily breakfast for two people
- In-Room WiFi
- Guaranteed 4PM late check-out
- $100 property credit to be used during stay
Vancouver is one of my favorite cities in North America, and this promotion is definitely valuable for many. Be sure you consider everything before using the promo, though:
- If you’re staying at a chain hotel you won’t earn points for your stay, and in many cases won’t get elite credit, since you’re booking through a third party
- The stay is non-refundable and pre-paid
This is still a hell of a deal, though in many cases for luxury hotels I think Fine Hotels & Resorts or Virtuoso can be an even better deal.
