Alaska Offering Double Miles In Select Markets Through May 15, 2015

As part of the never-ending “Battle in Seattle” between Alaska and Delta, Alaska is offering Mileage Plan members double redeemable miles (not elite qualifying miles) for travel between February 15 and May 15, 2015.

The promotion is only valid for nonstop travel in the following markets out of Seattle and Salt Lake City:

Alaska-Double-Miles

As you can see, the promotion includes some of Alaska’s most popular markets, like Seattle to Anchorage, Los Angeles, San Francisco, etc. Clearly this promotion is being run due to the overlap between them and Delta in many of these markets.

Registration is required prior to your first qualifying flight, and it can take four to six weeks for bonus miles to post.

  1. If this is Alaska’s answer to Delta’s latest promo aimed at Washington State residents it’s a pretty half-arsed effort. But then again, Alaska’s MVP program is already overcrowded. If they give everybody Gold status after flying 6 round trips, as Delta is doing, the program would be even more useless than it already is…at least for flights on AS metal.
