For the past month or so Chase has been offering a 50,000 point sign-up bonus after spending $2,000 within three months on their co-branded Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Cards. I was told that this offer would expire on Tuesday afternoon, but there’s still a chance to take advantage of the increased sign-up bonus if you haven’t already.
Current cardholders can refer a friend and receive a 5,000 point bonus when their friend is approved and makes their first purchase before May 31, 2015. The landing page suggests the offer will be valid for referrals sent out through February, though that could change.
If you already have the card, please feel free to post your referral link in the comments for others to take advantage of.
The offer also seems to be directly available on the Chase website, though there’s no indication of how long the offer will last.
This information hasn’t been provided to me by Chase or Southwest, so I know as much about these offers as you guys do, and don’t know how long either will last.
If you can parlay this signup bonus into earning the Southwest Companion Pass you can save thousands of dollars on domestic travel. This is really one of the most compelling values in the airline industry, and frankly I’m amazed that they still offer it given just how generous it is. Now’s a great time to get the card, and if you time it right, the Companion Pass status you earn would be valid through 2016.
