Winter IHG PointsBreaks Now Live

On Friday I mentioned that the IHG Rewards Club PointBreaks preview list was released, whereby select hotels are available for just 5,000 points per night. Today the official list of just over 175 properties has gone “live”.

While the main PointBreaks page hasn’t yet been updated, if you go to the individual participating hotel links (below), you should see the hotels already bookable at just 5,000 points per night. Not every hotel has their rates loaded, so if there’s a specific property you’re interested in I’d keep refreshing.

The new IHG Rewards Club’s PointBreaks list is valid for stays through Saturday, February 28, 2015.

Keep in mind as well that IHG Rewards Club recently updated the terms of the PointBreaks bookings, and you can only book two stays per hotel per promotion:

Due to the limited availability, each member may only book two PointBreaks® Reward Nights reservations per hotel during the special offer time period.

The list of properties is pretty uninspiring, in my opinion, but if you’re traveling to these areas I’d definitely recommend planning ahead now, as the more popular ones tend to disappear from the list fairly quickly.

Here’s the full list:

Europe

Middle East & Africa

Asia

Mexico, Central, and South America

United States & Canada

If you’re traveling to these areas I’d definitely recommend planning ahead now, as the more popular ones tend to disappear from the list fairly quickly.

  1. Hi Ben,

Monday morning, when the deals became available, I found that on some of my desired dates there was no PB availability; however, on those dates it was possible to pay for a room instead.
When I read the T&Cs regarding “Reward nights”, point 5 states: “There are no blackout dates for Reward Nights; however, room inventory is limited and subject to prior sale”

    What does “prior” mean?
Am I correct to assume that only a limited number of rooms is available, while the rest is available for sale?

  2. @ Jeffrey — Correct, PointBreaks stays are capacity controlled beyond the normal award stays, unfortunately.
