Triple Club Carlson Points For Weekday Stays

Club Carlson is offering an extremely lucrative promotion when you book and stay between September 1 and November 30, 2014.

Club Carlson is offering triple Gold Points when you use promotion code BIZTIME3 at the time of booking. To qualify, you must check-in Sunday through Thursday night, and check out Monday through Friday night.

Club Carlson already has an extremely lucrative points earnings structure for hotel stays. You earn 20 Gold Points per dollar spent at hotels, so if you use this promotion code you earn 60 Gold Points per dollar spent.

On top of that, if you pay with your Club Carlson Premier Rewards Visa Signature® Card you earn an extra 10 points per dollar spent. Club Carlson Gold members (the status you also get if you have the credit card) earn a 35% bonus on base points, which is an extra 7 points per dollar spent.

That means if you pay with the Club Carlson Premier Rewards Visa Signature® Card you’re earning 77 Gold Points per dollar spent at Club Carlson properties. That’s an amazing return.

Now, not all properties are participating, so you’ll want to go to the promotion page to see if the property you’re eying is participating. Only select properties in Belize, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago, the United States, and Uruguay are taking part in the promotion. That’s unfortunate, since most of the Club Carlson properties I’d consider staying at are in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

The good news is that based on the properties I’ve searched, rates which include the bonus promotion aren’t jacked up — they’re the best available rates for those nights. So while you can’t use a corporate code or AAA discount, that’s well worth it for triple points, in my opinion.

This promotion should also be stackable with the one offering 3,000 bonus points per booking made through the Club Carlson app. That means the above ~$90 stay could net you ~10,000 Club Carlson Gold points.

The full terms for the promotion read as follows:

Members of Club Carlson who book the Promotion rate using the Promotion ID and make a reservation between September 1, 2014 and November 30, 2014 (“Promotional Period”) for an Eligible Stay originating on Sundays through Thursdays during the Promotional Period, and ending on Mondays through Fridays, will earn 40 Gold Points® per U.S. Dollar spent on room nights (“Bonus Points”). Bonus Points are in addition to the standard 20 Gold Points per U.S. Dollar spent on Eligible Stays. You must check in and check out during the Promotional Period. The Promotion is valid at participating Carlson Rezidor hotels in the United States, Canada and Latin America, North America, and South America, and is subject to availability.

Both the check-in and checkout dates of the stay must take place within the Promotional Period. Bonus Points will be credited to your account when the standard Gold Points are credited for the Eligible Stay. Bonus Points do not apply to Elite member bonus points or other bonus point earnings.

Club Carlson reserves the right to add, modify, or discontinue the Promotion with or without notice. Void where prohibited by law. By participating in this Promotion, you agree and consent to these Terms and Conditions and the Club Carlson Terms and Conditions.

  1. Depending on how you redeem your points, you can actually save more than you spend. If you pick a qualifying hotel and spend $700 (for me, that would be 7 nights in a local Park Inn), you could (by your math) earn 53900 points. If you have a Club Carlson card, that could get you two nights in the Radisson Martinque in NYC, which can cost $400 per night. So you’ve actually saved $100 on the Martinique and the $700 stay elsewhere was a freebie.
