For about a year now, Hyatt & MGM have had a pretty innovative partnership, which is especially useful for Gold Passport members staying in Las Vegas.
They’ve just announced a promotion, offering bonus Gold Passport points for stays at Las Vegas properties through December 30, 2014.
Through this promotion they’re offering 1,000-3,000 bonus Gold Passport points per three qualifying nights, with no limit to the number of bonus points you can earn.
- 1,000 Gold Passport bonus points after three nights at the Hyatt Place Las Vegas, Excalibur, or Luxor
- 2,000 Gold Passport bonus points after three nights at the Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, The Mirage, Monte Carlo, THEhotel, The Signature, Vdara, or New York, New York
- 3,000 Gold Passport bonus points after three nights at the ARIA or Bellagio
Registration is required by October 15, 2014, and bonus points should post 2-3 weeks after each third eligible night.
One thing worth noting is that you don’t need to stay three consecutive nights to take advantage of this promotion. For that matter you don’t even have to stay at the same property for three nights, as long as you do a total of three nights at eligible hotels in a single “category.” For example, if you did one night at Vdara, one night at THEhotel, and one night at MGM Brand, you’d earn 2,000 bonus Gold Passport points.
Ultimately this isn’t a promotion that should sway your stay decision one way or another, but it’s a nice bonus and the fact that it’s available through the end of the year makes it worth mentioning, in my opinion. I value Hyatt Gold Passport points at ~1.5 cents each, so the way I see you’re earning anywhere between $15 and $45 worth of points for every three nights. That’s a nice bonus, but not amazing.
Then again, Vegas hotels can be quite cheap, especially on weekdays.
I’ll be checking out some of the Hyatt affiliated properties in Vegas in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
