Both Delta SkyMiles and JetBlue TrueBlue are offering some generous bonuses for travel to the Caribbean, Latin America, and Mexico this fall.
The details of the promotions are as follows:
Delta SkyMiles bonus
Delta is offering bonus miles for travel between the US and the Caribbean, Latin America, or Mexico. Simply register and book your ticket by September 30, 2014, and travel between September 2 and December 11, 2014, and you can earn unlimited bonus miles. Your SkyMiles account must be registered with a US address in order to qualify, and bonus miles should post within four to six weeks of completion of travel.
The bonuses for roundtrip travel are as follows:
- To Mexico or Latin America: 5,000 bonus miles in economy or 10,000 bonus miles in business/first class
- To the Caribbean: 2,500 bonus miles on economy or 10,000 bonus miles in business/first class

Caribbean cities include: Aruba, Aruba/AUA; Bermuda, Bermuda/BDA; Freeport, Bahamas/FPO; Georgetown, Bahamas/GGT; Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands/GCM; Montego Bay, Jamaica/MBJ; Nassau, Bahamas/NAS; Punta Cana, Dominican Republic/PUJ, St. Maarten, Netherland Antilles/SXM; St. Thomas, Virgin Islands/STT; San Juan, Puerto Rico/SJU; Santiago, Dominican Republic/STI; Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/SDQ; Turks and Caicos/PLS.
Mexico/Latin America cities include: Cancun, Mexico/CUNl; Guanacaste Liberia, Costa Rica/LIR; Mexico City, Mexico/MEX; Los Cabos, Mexico/SJD; Monterrey, Mexico/MTY; Leon, Mexico/BJX; Puerto Vallarta, Mexico/PVR; and San Jose, Costa Rica/SJO.
JetBlue TrueBlue bonus
JetBlue is offering bonus points for travel to the Caribbean, Latin America, or Mexico. Simply register and book your ticket by September 2, 2014, and travel between September 2 and December 11, 2014. You earn 5,000 bonus points per roundtrip, which can be earned an unlimited number of times. Bonus points should post within four to six weeks of completion of travel.
For JetBlue, the following destinations qualify for the promotion (damn, I didn’t realize how many destinations they have in the Caribbean, Latin America, and Mexico):
Ultimately this isn’t a reason to go out of your way to fly to one of these destinations, but if you’re going anyway, these are both fairly straightforward promotions.
