While summer is a busy travel season, it’s fairly slow for business travel. As a result, it’s not unusual to see airlines offer promotions to incentivize full fare and premium cabin passengers.
American Airlines 777-300ER business class, available on many flights to London
Here are the basic terms of the promotion:
- Valid for travel on American Airlines, US Airways, British Airways, Finnair, Iberia or OpenSkies
- Valid for travel between May 12 and August 31, 2014
- Registration is required prior to travel using promotion code NA014
Through this promotion you can earn 5,000-25,000 bonus miles per roundtrip, as follows:
- First or Business Class: 25,000 bonus miles
- Premium Economy: 10,000 bonus miles
- Full-Fare Economy: 5,000 bonus miles
Here are the eligible fare classes for this promotion:

Meanwhile British Airways is offering Executive Club members a virtually identical promotion if you’d like to earn bonus Avios instead of AAdvantage miles.
Ultimately these promotions probably aren’t enough reason to switch business to oneworld, but if you’re flying anyway or were undecided on which carrier to book, they’re definitely worth keeping in mind.
