JetBlue Mosaic Status Match And Challenge

Back in 2012 JetBlue introduced the TrueBlue Mosaic program, which is their revenue-based elite status program.

While Mosaic status is technically based on the number of points you earn, the points are directly correlated to the amount of money you spend on JetBlue. To qualify, TrueBlue members have to either earn 15,000 base points (which equates to $5,000 of spend) OR fly 30 segments and earn 12,000 base points (which equates to $4,000 of spend).

JetBlue is now offering anyone the opportunity to do a status challenge. Here are the details on the TrueBlue Mosaic Challenge.

Are you a TrueBlue member who enjoys a certain, shall we say, status? Now until April 18, 2014, sign up for the TrueBlue Mosaic Challenge, where you can earn Mosaic membership fast – 90 days to be exact. Earn 3,750 base flight TrueBlue points during your Challenge period to qualify for Mosaic through December 31, 2015.

So anyone can participate in the challenge, though if you hold one of the following elite status levels you’ll get to keep Mosaic status through the end of 2014 regardless of how much flying you do during the 90 day challenge period:

Alaska Airlines®: Mileage PlanTM MVP® Gold or MVP® Gold 75k
American Airlines®: AAdvantage Platinum® or Executive Platinum®
Delta®: SkyMiles Medallion® Gold, Platinum or Diamond
Southwest®: Rapid Rewards® A-List Preferred or Companion Pass
United®: MileagePlus® Premier® Gold, Platinum or Premier1K®
US Airways®: Dividend Miles Preferred Gold, Platinum or Chairman

The terms for the challenge are as follows:

  • Before 4/18/2014 (11:59 PM EST), email mosaicchallenge@jetblue.com with your valid and current TrueBlue number in the body of the email. If you are a member of one of the airline loyalty programs with the specified status above, also include your most recent statement, current credentials card, or some other documentation showing your current membership and status.
  • You will receive an email acknowledging that TrueBlue has received your application for the Mosaic Challenge and is reviewing it. Please allow approximately 2 weeks for the review of your information.
  • Approximately 2 weeks after you send your Mosaic Challenge application email, you will receive an email from TrueBlue that will inform you whether your application has been accepted. If you have been accepted, we will let you know when your 90-day challenge period begins. (Don’t worry, it won’t begin before you get accepted!) Also, if you sent valid proof of enrollment/status in one of the eligible airline loyalty programs, the email will confirm that your Mosaic status has kicked in for 2014.
  • You will have 90 days to complete the Mosaic Challenge by earning 3,750 base flight points. (Base flight points are the 3 points per $1 you earn on the base fare of your individual JetBlue flight purchase. All other bonus points, partner points and booking bonuses do not count.) If you successfully complete the Challenge, you will receive an email from TrueBlue notifying you that you have earned TrueBlue Mosaic through December 31, 2015 and when you can start enjoying additional Mosaic benefits.

JetBlue TrueBlue Mosaic status offers the following benefits:

Mosaic-Status-Benefits

While certainly not as valuable as status with a legacy carrier, these are some nice benefits for an airline that’s extremely pleasant to fly within the US!

I don’t check bags, so that’s no benefit.
No free access to extra legroom?
What kind of elite level is this, anyway?
    I think I’ll pass

@ MAo — Haven’t decided yet. Frankly my loyalty is split enough and I don’t think JetBlue has a compelling enough program for me to switch a substantial amount of business to them, despite what a great domestic economy class product they have.
