Marriott New Member Bonus

Marriott is running a pretty generous new member bonus, which apparently has been available since November 4, 2013, but I read about it for the first time on Loyalty Lobby today. The promotion page describes it about as simply as possible:

  • Join Marriott Rewards and be automatically registered to earn your free night certificate
  • Stay twice at participating hotels during your earning period*. Your earning period starts the day you enroll through the end of that month, plus an additional 120 days
  • Earn a free night at a category 1 – 5 hotel after your 2nd paid stay

So if you stay twice within 4+ months you get a free night at a category one through five property. There doesn’t seem to be an expiration date for this offer as of now.

The full terms and conditions read as follows:

  • Your earning period starts the day you enroll through the end of that month, plus an additional 120 days.

Comments

  1. There was a registration promo like this applicable in October too for new members. While it said Category 1-4 for new members after the second stay, the award showed up as good for Category 1-5.

  2. This is basically the same as the MegaBonus offer that members with few stays got, albeit you can time this to fit your stay pattern.

  3. I meant the “first” stay in my earlier post.

I saw accounts get the bonus for a single $20 stay at the Courtyard Marriott in Rosslyn during October of this year.

  4. My finacee registered through the 2000 point referral, but then they said that she didn’t have the new member bonus. Make sure to register through the link, even though there doesn’t seem to be a requirement to do so.
