Tomorrow Only: Enter To Win 70,000 Starpoints

Just a quick heads up that tomorrow I’ll be giving away 70,000 Starpoints on the blog. As many of you know, I’m participating in the “Amex Stars” program this year, and as part of that I’ve been able to go on some pretty cool trips courtesy of the Starwood American Express.

Possibly the coolest part of participating in the program is that with each experience I’m able to give away a prize to a reader courtesy of the Starwood American Express. For example, earlier this year I stayed at the St. Regis Monarch Beach, and was able to give away 30,000 Starpoints in conjunction with the stay. Similarly, I was invited to the US Open and stayed at the Westin Grand Central, and was also able to give away 30,000 Starpoints in conjunction with the stay.

Tomorrow I’ll be giving away the biggest prize of the year, which is 70,000 Starpoints. You’ll be able to enter between 11AM and 5PM ET via Twitter, so stay tuned till tomorrow for all the details, though in the meantime be sure you have a Twitter account and are following me, so that you’ll be eligible to win.

Comments

  1. @ franz — Wish it were my choice, but unfortunately it’s not. Since the Starwood American Express is issued in the US, that’s who they’re limiting eligibility to. Sorry, promise there will be future giveaways for international readers, though!

  2. @ Steven L. — Typically if I’m running a giveaway where I’m giving away the prize then I make it on PT (my time), while when it’s sponsored by a third party it’s usually on ET (which is the time they give me). šŸ™‚

  3. Lucky, is there any way for a German (with German passport living in Germany) to get the Starwood Amex (or any other one of the cool US credit cards)?
I only have a German Amex, which transfers to SPG 3:1, slicing my hardly earned points down to one third. They also do NOT participate in the bonuses the US Amex sometimes give for SPG transfers šŸ™ It would be so great to have any card directly earning Starpoints and/or adding earned nights to the elite requirements for Starwood/Marriott each year…

  4. So tell us, when AMEX pays you for your corporate shilling do they value the trip based on a points value of 2.5 cents each? If we are going to have to pay taxes for a prize based on an overinflated value, so should you!

  5. @ Seth — If you must know, I actually AM being issued a W9 for the value of the 70K Starpoints that were deposited in my account. So yes.

    Any other questions?
