It’s rare that I see something at a hotel that’s actually innovative, though the Hyatt Regency O’Hare left me nearly speechless when I stayed there last night.
The funny thing is that that the last time I stay there (a bit over a year ago) I was so frustrated by how long the check-in queue was and nearly swore off the place.
So I was totally shocked when I boarded the shuttle bus at O’Hare yesterday and was approached by an associate that checked me in… on the bus!
He had an iPad much like they have at Andaz properties, and issued me a room key, asked whether I wanted my Diamond amenity or points, explained the Regency Club hours, etc. Less than a minute later I had my key to the room before even leaving the airport. Apparently it’s something they’ve been doing for about a year now.
Kudos, kudos, kudos Hyatt. This is brilliant. Brilliant.
Now, the internet speed at the Hyatt Regency is a totally different story…
