Back in October American announced four new international routes, including service between Dallas and Seoul Incheon, Chicago and Dusseldorf, New York and Dublin, and Dallas and Lima. Back in early February they unveiled a promotion offering up to 30,000 bonus miles for travel on their new route to Seoul Incheon, and in late February they unveiled promotions offering up to 20,000 bonus miles for travel on their new Chicago to Dusseldorf and New York to Dublin routes.
Now they’ve unveiled a promotion offering up to 20,000 bonus miles for travel on their new Dallas to Lima route. The promotion is valid for travel between April 1 and June 30, 2013, and offers 20,000 bonus miles for roundtrip travel on a paid business class fare, or in an economy Y, B, or H fare. All other revenue economy fares offer 10,000 bonus miles for roundtrip travel. One-way tickets are also eligible to accrue half the bonus miles.
Registration is required prior to travel.
American actually has some pretty attractive fares in this market. Dallas to Lima roundtrip is just $724 all-in for economy class.
And it’s just $1,324 all-in for business class.
I value American miles at ~1.8 cents each, so when you factor in that you’re earning an extra $180 worth of miles in coach or $360 worth of miles in business class, I’d say that’s a pretty great deal.
